Port Phillip Bay Whiting going strong 💪🏻 🔥. Yesterday afternoon’s short weather gap saw Gawaine and I sending it on a whim. Worth it when the fishings red hot like this! Gawaine put us on em first drop with some proper thumpers coming over the side. Definitely enjoying the switch up of fishing the bay so far this autumn.

Morning Craig’o! The conditions on Monday forced my hand to take a leave day and hit the water. What a magic day offshore which did not disappoint! 💥
We did a quick bait collection with a few squid, salmon and mackerel then I decided to watch Gawaine’s video again on making a wire trace. 🎯🎯🎯
Fresh bait in hand I pinned a solid Salmon head and sure enough after a 15min soak the rod started to peel line, then nothing. 👈
To my shock something cut through the wire trace but this was not going to stop me, so I quickly made another. Just as I finished my mate pulled in a sand whiting, so on with a live bait…👊👊👊
It didn’t take long and the line was again screaming off the spool. It headed to the surface and did a lap of the boat, after 20 minutes of chaos I boated my first ever Mako shark! 😎
