Can you believe these invitations are printed without a single plug or motor? My letterpress is nearly 80 years old and runs entirely without electricity ā just me, the press, and a little elbow grease. šŖ
Curious about how these machines work? I put together a free guide that breaks down the different types of presses and helps you figure out which one might be the best fit for you. Comment inky and Iāll send it your way!

Stationers know this feeling.
You spend weeks (sometimes months) designing, printing, troubleshooting, adjusting spacing by half a millimeter⦠and then finally comes the best part:
assembling the suite.
No emails.
No revisions.
No printer drama.
Just beautiful paper, envelope liners, and the quiet satisfaction of seeing the entire wedding stationery suite come together.
I love every second. š
This is basically a stationer group chat in carousel form š
These are a few of my favorite client requests that come up again and againā¦
and always make me pause for a second.
Please tell me Iām not aloneāand what would you add??
How incredibly rewarding it is to bring an idea to life with your own two hands.
After hours of designing, pulling references, ideating, refiningā¦
and thenāslowlyāit comes together.
You run it through the press for the first time, and see it pressed into paper.
Thatās the moment you realize⦠this is the kind of work that loves you back.
Hours in. Ink under your nails. Slower than the screen ever asked you to be. And somehow, you walk away feeling more accomplished than ever.
If youāve been craving a creative process that actually feels rewarding (not just productive), this might be it.

Running a business solo means youāre doing everything ā and the little things add up fast.
Over time, Iāve found tools that make things smoother, faster, and way more manageable.
No gatekeeping ā just what actually works (and doesnāt break the bank).
If you want everything I use in one place, I made a cheat sheet for you. Comment CHEAT SHEET and Iāll send it your way.
When everything feels loud⦠I slow down here.
Letterpress printing forces you to be present. You canāt rush it. And you wouldnāt want to.
And if part of you is thinking, āIāve always wanted to try thisā¦ā ā this is your sign.
I made a free beginner guide to letterpress to help you get started (and choose the right press without the overwhelm).
Comment INKY and Iāll send it over. š¤
If youāve ever found yourself thinking, āIāve always wanted to try letterpressā¦ā
thereās usually a moment when that turns into,
āwait⦠I actually want to do this.ā
If youāre here, youāre probably already in that space.
And I get itābecause right after that comes the question:
where do I even start?
So I made a simple, free guide to help you sort through it allāwhat kind of press makes sense, what to watch out for, and how to begin without getting overwhelmed.
Comment āInkyā and Iāll send it your way.
Thereās something about opening your mailbox and finding an envelope covered in the most beautiful vintage stamps. You stop before you even open it.
Itās history, art, and personality all in one tiny perforated square.
So I made a little quiz. Because the stamps youāre drawn to? They say something about you.
Whether youāre The Eternal Goth, The Botanist, or The European Summer Girl ā thereās a set with your name on it.
Drop your title in the comments š I want to know which one you are.
And if you want to start hunting for stamps like these yourself ā comment POSTAGE and Iāll send you my free sourcing guide. Itās got all my top-secret spots.
Important (and exciting) update ā”
As Sal Studios has grown into more of an education space, I started to feel the pull to give my invitation work its own home. A brand that reflects not just what I make, but why I make it.
So: meet Terra Paper Company. Sustainable, fine art wedding stationery ā handmade paper, letterpress, and a few new designs Iām really proud of (Ravello, shown here).
Terra is largely what Sal Studios has always offered, just more intentional about the eco side of things and with a few new designs Iāve been quietly working on. I donāt have a Terra Instagram yet, but the new site is live ā terrapaperco.com ā if you want to see what Iāve been up to.
Sal Studios isnāt going anywhere. The education side of things will keep living here. This is just the beginning of things having their proper place.
