Iโve been going to carnival for years and never in my life did I ever expect to be DJโing at this festival! I still canโt believe it, especially after only a year of performing. It still feels like a dream. I enjoyed myself a lot, there was so much that I have learned from this experience.
But it all worked out for good and I wouldnโt have had it any other way.
The experience I got strengthened me in so many different areas. Not only was I a DJ but also a sound engineer, event organiser, manager, agent, tech support, promoter, entertainer and more. Thatโs the thing, the larger the scale of the event, the more you have to do, the more pressure you have and the more you have to prepare for. For all the DJs that didnโt get to perform this year but wish to perform at future carnivals, all I have to say is be prepared for anything, expect the unexpected, bring as much back up as you can (usbs, laptops, cables, chargers, generators๐) and most importantly BE PRESENT! Presence is worth more than any footage you may get to promote. I always imagined what this day would look like on camera but never did I imagine what it would feel like in the moment. This experience taught me that the feeling is way more powerful and important and worthy than how it looks and I will forever take that lesson with me. Iโm forever grateful for this opportunity and I canโt wait to see what carnival 2026 will look like ๐๐
