[Behind The Lens -
@tediousvisuals ] - PART 2
Behind The Lens is a photo series where I turn the camera toward creatives I know—photographers, filmmakers and artists. The goal? Capture them as they are and how they want to be seen. Personal branding, with honesty and style.
Today we're diving into TediousVisuals, a UK-based videographer/photographer making waves. His creativity comes from life, nostalgia and gamification; world-building and escapism with embraced imperfection.
"Games have always been a huge part of my life, whether I was making YouTube videos, playing them or just growing up on them. Halo Reach was my favourite game... I think that's why I always loved world building in my music videos."
He also draws from peers and "the greats", Cole Bennet, Virgil Abloh, and especially Jamal Edwards: "I've always said it... he's incredible, always putting on for people and finding ways to push those around him... and I think that's beautiful."
Aiming to inspire future creatives, Tedious uses his art to build opportunity. From a small town, he fights the barriers he faced.
His style plays off his name, TDS, creating work that goes against the grain. His visuals are anything but "tedious": fast paced, glitch-heavy, world-building and unpredictable. From Underground Alt to mainstream, he aims to "blow minds" and break standards: "I have an audience of multiple labels... seeing that (his aftermovie) they'll say 'whoa, what the fuck? This is crazy'."
He wants to run a festival or show in Burton, building a hub for young creatives and leaving a legacy: "I'm a people person, I struggle with trusting people, but I love the thought of making people smile, laugh and have a nice life."
Tedious doesn’t plan to be the best, just to help the best. An icon in the underground and mainstream, he’s a genuine talent who creates, inspires and leaves space for others to do the same.
