My inner control freak came out that first night. Dad was straight up driving on the edge the road on the way from Montego Bay to Sandy Bay just after dark. For those not familiar with island roads at any given point you can go from dirt to a ditch to a complete drop off the edge of the world. “Pull over old man before you kill us all!”, I yelled after the fifth time telling him, ‘You’re off the road.’ “You think you can do better?”, he barked back at me. “I don’t know but I can see the road.” He didn’t (have to) drive again for the rest of the trip.
