Meet Christianna, she works in our Emergency Department as an ED Tech while attending Nursing School. She is one of lucky Saint Alphonsus Scholarship recipients! She began with Al’s on the Medical/Oncology floor, and later transferred to the Emergency Room. She has been committed to Saint Als for 8 years now! “I initially chose to work at Saint Al’s because I wasn't sure if nursing was for me, but shortly discovered my passion for helping sick and vulnerable patients. Over the years, I have stayed at Saint Alphonsus because of the variety of avenues to grow within the hospital as well as the specialized care we provide for trauma and critical care patients. I have had the privilege of working in multiple different areas of medicine, and I can truthfully say that our culture within Saint Alphonsus is unique and driven by teamwork. We constantly support each other through hard days and cheer each other on when we have a win. I'm also grateful that I'm surrounded by other professionals that have cultivated a learning environment throughout every department. Our job can be very rewarding despite the challenges we face; but I'll never forget the patients that I've seen living a normal life after a traumatic event that they have endured knowing I was a part of the team that kept them alive. Those are some of the few moments and reasons why I have stayed at Saint Alphonsus while continuing to love what I do.” In her spare time, Christianna enjoys being in nature through hiking, backpacking, and rollerblading.
