We still can’t believe this is our story and that we went from a sinking wreck to what Yabá is now! It’s been quite a journey but we wouldn’t want it any other way 🤍
When we were working on Yabá, we knew that launching her back to the sea would be our dream come true.
What we didn’t know... was that she would keep giving us dreams we hadn’t even stopped to wish for.
Every day out here is a dream we never knew we had.
A sunset after a hard day? A dream come true.
A quiet anchor drop under the stars? A dream come true.
And the perfect sight of four sails open, pulling us toward the horizon? Definitely a dream come true.
Boat life can get challenging.
But if it had all been easy, maybe we wouldn’t have noticed. If we had a perfect boat with four sails from the beginning, maybe we wouldn’t have learned to cherish each moment the way we do now.
Maybe we wouldn’t have known how precious it is... to have a mast standing tall, a sail flying free, and three others completing the picture.
Today, Yabá sails again. And so do we.
Toward the dreams we know...
And the ones waiting just beyond the next wave.

Nothing like a day having friends over to remind us what boat life is actually about. We get so caught up in all the tasks that are constantly waiting for us that we forget that on a sunny Sunday we can just sail to an island, snorkel, befriend a turtle, make bbq and watch the sunset from the upper deck while dancing to Macarena.
The funniest part is that our friends leave us thinking that’s what we do everyday. We wish! But we definitely should do it more often. Screw scrubbing the deck!

A WHALE! In January?!
Few days ago we said on camera that one of our
“dreams” for 2026 was to see a whale from Yabá. And that was said thinking about our winter (july or august) which is whale season.
We were shocked to see a humpback whale in January! At this time they are supposed to be feeding in Antartica, but apparently there are two juvenile whales that stayed around the Ubatuba area and we were lucky to bump into one.
How lucky are we? How generous has life been to us? We literally just made the wish and it came true already on our first trip of the year?!
Of course it was amazing, but also a bit worrying because the whales are really not supposed to be here now. We just hope this juvenile stays strong 🥹

2025, you were EPIC! ✨
01. MP stays alone on the boat for 2 weeks, survives and doesn’t sink it.
02. We break the curse and catch our first fish. Even though Raff (@spear_it_animal ) swears the fish is so ugly it is actually the curse itself.
03. Ben fulfills his promise and spends a night sleeping in a hammock between the masts.
04. We finally have all 4 sails up and she looks BEAUTIFUL!
05. We learn how to freedive with the legend and world record breaker @karolinemmeyer
06. We change our mainsail from furling to hoisting and start going places.
07. Our first destination far from home (Ilhabela) didn’t disappoint.
08. We visit the Pataxó tribe and change how we see the world forever.
09. We fall in love with Ilha Grande.
10. We sail with our people at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.
11. Ben breaks his record spearfishing.
12. We look back and feel extremely grateful for the amazing year we had 🥹
This year was so incredible that choosing 12 pictures to summarize it felt impossible. We do count our blessing but this time we lost count!
We left familiar waters, discovered new places, made new friends and gained a whole lot of experience along the way. We lived unforgettable moments at anchor, under sail, and everywhere in between. But knowing that you were out there, reading, watching and following along, is what truly made this journey special.
May 2026 be as kind to you as you’ve been to us… tenfold!

The only thing bringing us any closer to a white Christmas is the thick layer of sunscreen we need to survive the heat! But the holiday spirit is here anyway and as the year comes to a close, we couldn’t step into the new one without first sending you some love from Yabá.

When the time came to say farewell to my hometown I wanted to get myself a souvenir. And starring at that mug I realized that I haven’t done all the fun things there were to do before leaving. So off we went on the quest of conquering the craziest checklist before departure and it was the most fun we had in a longtime.
