Last year, the conversations didn’t feel like speeches.
They felt like people trying to solve the same problem from different angles, and slowly realising it.
That was the Sahel Food Systems Changemakers Conference 2025.📌
One person was talking about funding.
Another about logistics.
Another about women trying to access markets that exist on paper but not in practice.
No single storyline, just a shared reality.💯
And that’s what made it significant.
People began to align without forcing it.
Now we’re building on that.
SCC 2026 is coming!🎉
The theme will be unveiled soon.
What do you think this year’s theme will focus on?💬

Pause for a second!
What’s the next real step for you in your career?
🚫 Not the safe step.
🚫 Not the expected one.
📌The one that actually expands your influence.
Do you know that one of the biggest gaps in agriculture today isn’t participation, it’s influence.
Many women are doing the work, leading teams, and driving results, but are still underrepresented where key decisions are made.
This programme is designed to help close that gap. 👌
If you’re ready to move beyond execution and into shaping outcomes, this programme is for you.

Nigeria’s poultry sector has demand and capacity.
So why the decline in recent years?
At the SEPTP (Sustainable Entrepreneurship-led Poultry Transformation Program) dialogue, the answer was clear: coordination.
📌 Key issues raised: fragmented markets, weak data, high input costs, limited finance.
Alignment on action:
⏩ Move from siloed efforts to a market driven system
⏩ Organise farmers for access to finance and markets
⏩ Strengthen standards, data, and traceability
⏩ Improve inclusion for women, youth, and persons with disabilities
A Multi Stakeholder Platform (MSP) was formed to drive coordination and action.
Real change happens together, not in silos.💯

Swipe >>>> to see the stories behind how peace was restored in fragmented communities across Plateau State.
Women in pastoralist and crop-farming areas were at the centre of conflict, without voice or economic power.
Through the Women Livelihood Support Project with Tetratech, that began to change across Barkin Ladi, Bassa, and Riyom LGAs,
They rebuilt trust through shared work and stepped into leadership, business, and dialogue spaces.
This is what peacebuilding looks like when it starts with women.

The Women Livelihood Support Project ended in March.
But the real question is: what stayed?
In Plateau State, what stayed are women no longer on the margins of conflict, but leading livelihoods, decisions, and community dialogue.👌
Through this project, women strengthened their economic power and built collaboration between pastoralists and crop farmers, supported by our targeted interventions.
⏩ Cooperatives are running, managing assets, and generating income
⏩Skills are being used to sustain households
⏩Dialogue now helps communities manage tension
From crop residue turned into livestock feed,
to soap, tailoring, and small businesses,
these systems are still working beyond the project.
⏩ 6 cooperatives formed
⏩ 1,000+ people trained.
One shift that goes beyond numbers.🔽
The project has ended, but the impact continues.
It is now driven by the women and communities themselves.
Watch this space for the success stories that will be dropping soon.

Climate data is only powerful when it’s used!👌
@officialnimetng Maproom gives free, public access to 30+ years of climate data across all 774 LGAs, including rainfall, temperature, and seasonal forecasts.
Through the Building Agricultural Systems Resilience in Nigeria project, we brought together government, academia, and extension actors in Lagos for a hands-on training led by NiMet experts.
The goal: turn data into decisions to support agricultural planning, early warning systems, and disaster risk management.
Because the real shift isn’t just having data, it’s knowing how to use it.
When stakeholders can plan with localised insights, systems become anticipatory, not reactive.
Where do you think the bigger gap lies - data access or the capacity to use it?
