The full programme of the Sahab Festival will be announced next week 👀 Before that, we wanted to share one of our first collective projects: The Cloud Workshop. In 2023, fourteen artists gathered inside @eltiqa.gallery in Gaza to create the first collective work of the Sahab Museum, a museum imagined against destruction and oblivion. Initiated by Hawaf, the workshop brought together a new generation of Palestinian artists to imagine a museum without borders, floating like a cloud above Gaza. The canvas was later exhibited in Paris at @institutdumondearabe as part of the exhibition “What Palestine Brings to the World.” Three years later, this collective gesture continues through the Sahab Festival at @gaitelyrique 🩵 on June 5–6. ∿ سيتم الإعلان عن البرنامج الكامل لمهرجان سحاب الأسبوع المقبل 👀 وقبل ذلك، أردنا أن نشارك أحد مشاريعنا الجماعية الأولى: «ورشة السحابة». في عام 2023، اجتمع أربعة عشر فناناً وفنانة داخل @eltiqa.gallery في غزة لإنجاز أول عمل جماعي لمتحف سحاب، وهو متحف متخيَّل في مواجهة الدمار والنسيان. أطلق تجمع حواف هذه الورشة التي جمعت جيلاً جديداً من الفنانين الفلسطينيين المولودين بين عامي 1990 و2000 لتخيّل متحف بلا حدود، يطفو كسحابة فوق غزة. عُرض هذا العمل الجماعي لاحقاً في باريس في @institutdumondearabe ضمن معرض «What Palestine Brings to the World». وبعد ثلاث سنوات، تستمر هذه المبادرة الجماعية اليوم من خلال مهرجان سحاب في @gaitelyrique 🩵 يومي 5 و6

In one month, the new Sahab Museum will go live 🖲️ This online platform brings together artworks and projects by Palestinian artists and collectives. In the meantime, here is a glimpse of four artists who will be featured. How do you catch a cloud? 💭 In Arabic, ‘sahab’ means cloud. For us, the cloud is the most fitting place for a museum: a space without walls, a bridge to the outside world, a way to rebuild community through a shared, dematerialized structure. Two years ago, we invited a group of children to explore this idea through a workshop at Hangar Y, in Meudon, France. With the Hawaf collective, 40 participants from Les Apprentis d’Auteuil and École Auguste Rodin imagined and shaped clouds using cotton candy. Fragile, ephemeral sculptures that were photographed before disappearing. ∿ كيف يمكن الإمساك بسحابة؟ 💭 بالنسبة لنا، السحابة هي المكان الأنسب لمتحف: فضاء بلا جدران، جسر نحو العالم الخارجي، وطريقة لإعادة بناء مجتمع من خلال بنية مشتركة غير مادية. قبل عامين، دعونا مجموعة من الأطفال لاستكشاف هذه الفكرة من خلال ورشة عمل في Hangar Y في مودون، فرنسا. مع جماعة حواف، قام 40 مشاركًا من Les Apprentis d’Auteuil ومدرسة Auguste Rodin بتخيّل وتشكيل سُحب باستخدام حلوى القطن. منحوتات هشّة وزائلة تم تصويرها قبل أن تختفي. ∿ 💕 @art.explora @hangar_y_ @thanksfor.nothing @apprentis_d_auteuil

Discover the work of @hamadaelkept , featured in the future Sahab Museum, a digital platform supporting and sharing Palestinian artistic creation beyond borders. A visual artist whose work draws from personal experience and the realities lived by his community in Gaza. Through his practice, he conveys a wide range of emotions shaped by trauma, memory and resilience. He has received several grants, including the Visual Arts Grant from the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome, and has presented solo exhibitions at the French Cultural Institute in Gaza and in Valencia with Thegrapa Gallery. His work has also been shown in collective contexts such as the Gaza Biennale. ∿ اكتشفوا أعمال حمادة القبطي، المعروضة في متحف سحاب المستقبلي، وهي منصة رقمية تدعم الإبداع الفني الفلسطيني وتعمل على مشاركته عبر الحدود. فنان بصري يستلهم أعماله من تجربته الشخصية ومن الواقع الذي يعيشه مجتمعه في غزة. ومن خلال ممارسته الفنية، ينقل طيفًا واسعًا من المشاعر التي تشكّلت بفعل الصدمة والذاكرة والصمود. حصل على عدد من المنح الفنية، من بينها منحة الفنون البصرية من الأكاديمية الملكية الإسبانية في روما، وقدّم معارض فردية في المعهد الثقافي الفرنسي في غزة وفي مدينة فالنسيا بالتعاون مع معرض Thegrapa. كما عُرضت أعماله في معارض جماعية، منها بينالي غزة. ∿ 📷 Hamada Elkept, Untitled, 2022-2023

What’s the difference between Hawaf and Sahab? ☁️ → Sahab is a platform and an artistic initiative that supports Palestinian creation and explores ways of sharing and preserving cultural memory. It also opens its projects to collaborations with other collectives and practitioners. → Hawaf is the collective behind it, bringing together artists and researchers connected to Gaza and working across different contexts. Here are the people who shape and carry it forward. At the heart of both is a shared belief in imagination as a way to engage with reality and open up new possibilities for Gaza. ∿ سحاب هي منصة ومبادرة فنية تدعم الإبداع الفلسطيني وتستكشف سُبلاً لمشاركة الذاكرة الثقافية والحفاظ عليها. كما تفتح مشاريعها للتعاون مع جماعات وممارسين آخرين. تقف وراءها مجموعة حواف، وهي تجمع فني يضم فنانين وباحثين مرتبطين بغزة ويعملون عبر سياقات مختلفة. وهؤلاء هم الأشخاص الذين يشكّلون هذه المبادرة ويقودونها. في صميم كلتا المبادرتين إيمان مشترك بالخيال كوسيلة للتفاعل مع الواقع وفتح آفاق جديدة لغزة.

Meet the Sahab tigress 👀 A recurring figure within Sahab, the tigress moves between realities, from Gaza to the Sahab Museum, between lived experience and imagination. Inspired by the true story of a tigress who survived multiple wars in Gaza, she embodies both resilience and fiction. Following our presentation at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris in 2024, she became a guide, welcoming visitors and leading them through the museum. Discover the work of Ayman Alhossary with ‘Life Between the Grey’. This project was developed in the ruins of destroyed buildings in Gaza. Combining calligraphy, movement and sound, Ayman works with materials found on site and introduces bright colors in contrast with the surrounding grey landscape. The performance is shaped by his experience of displacement. The clothes he wears, used during his time in southern Gaza, become part of the work, while a percussion rhythm accompanies and structures the gestures. Ayman Alhossary is a visual artist from Gaza working across painting and performance. He was one of the selected participants of the Sahab Lab program, which supports Palestinian artists through a combined approach of mentorship, financial support, and creative production. ∿ اكتشفوا عمل أيمن الحصري بعنوان الحياة بين الرمادي (Life Between the Grey). تم تطوير هذا العمل في أنقاض المباني المدمّرة في غزة. يجمع أيمن بين الخط والحركة والصوت، مستخدمًا موادًا موجودة في الموقع، مع إدخال ألوان زاهية تتباين مع المشهد الرمادي المحيط. يتشكّل الأداء من تجربة النزوح التي عاشها الفنان. الملابس التي يرتديها، والتي استخدمها خلال فترة وجوده في جنوب غزة، تصبح جزءًا من العمل، فيما يرافق الإيقاع الإيقاعي الحركات ويمنحها بنية. أيمن الحصري فنان بصري من غزة يعمل بين الرسم والأداء. وكان أحد المشاركين في برنامج سحاب لاب، الذي يدعم الفنانين الفلسطينيين من خلال الإرشاد والدعم المالي والإنتاج الفني.

Through his recent work, Assaf Al-Kharti reflects on what it means to live without a stable place to call home. The images presented here bring together previous works, references and sketches that inform his current research. Working with scrap metal and found materials, he transforms remnants of everyday life into sculptural forms that evoke temporary or incomplete shelters. Born in Gaza in 1994, Assaf Al-Kharti studied Business Administration at Palestine University (2016). A self-taught artist, he has developed his practice through workshops, exhibitions and artistic events. His work reveals the emotional and symbolic potential of discarded materials, particularly scrap metal. In 2026, he took part in the Sahab Lab program. ∿ من خلال أعماله الأخيرة، يتأمل عساف الخرطي في معنى العيش دون مكان ثابت يُسمّى بيتًا. تجمع هذه الصور بين أعمال سابقة ومراجع ورسومات تمهيدية تشكّل أساس بحثه الفني الحالي. يعتمد في ممارسته على الخردة المعدنية والمواد المُعاد استخدامها، حيث يحوّل بقايا الحياة اليومية إلى أشكال توحي بمآوٍ مؤقتة أو غير مكتملة. وُلد عساف الخرطي في غزة عام 1994. درس إدارة الأعمال في جامعة فلسطين (2016). وهو فنان تعلّم الفن بالممارسة وطوّر تجربته من خلال المشاركة في ورش ومعارض وفعاليات فنية. تكشف أعماله عن الإمكانات التعبيرية والرمزية للمواد المهملة، خصوصًا الخردة المعدنية. في عام 2026، شارك في برنامج سحاب لاب تصوير اهاني الشاعر

Today we highlight the work of Rawan Murad, one of the artists who recently took part in the Sahab Lab program. Over the past weeks, Rawan developed a series of paintings exploring personal and everyday experiences. Born in Gaza City in 1998, Rawan Murad is a visual artist who began developing her practice through drawing in 2020. She holds a BA in Psychology from Al-Aqsa University (2021) and has since participated in several workshops and group exhibitions. In 2022, she received a production grant from Shababeek Studio and joined the Sahab Studio workshop at the Institut du Monde Arabe and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. Discover a selection of the works she created during the program. ∿ اليوم نسلّط الضوء على أعمال روان مراد، إحدى الفنانات اللواتي شاركن مؤخرًا في برنامج سحاب لاب خلال الأسابيع الماضية، طوّرت روان سلسلة من اللوحات التي تستكشف تجارب شخصية ويومية. وُلدت روان مراد في مدينة غزة عام 1998. وهي فنانة بصرية بدأت تطوير ممارستها الفنية من خلال الرسم في عام 2020. تحمل درجة البكالوريوس في علم النفس من جامعة الأقصى (2021)، وشاركت منذ ذلك الحين في عدد من الورش الفنية والمعارض الجماعية. في عام 2022 حصلت على منحة إنتاج من مرسم شبابيك، وشاركت في ورشة سحاب ستوديو في معهد العالم العربي وقصر طوكيو في باريس. اكتشفوا مجموعة من الأعمال التي أنجزتها خلال البرنامج.
