I’m looking forward to casting my vote. Tomorrow is the day. Today is the day. It’s always the day to reject division and discord. We know that politicians aren’t the answer to the problem’s that society faces writ large. Our hearts have more power to change the face of humanity and the trajectory of society than people in suits. But collective energy targeted to a common goal that is positive is always a better answer than apathy. Apathy benefits the people at the top 100% of the time. Apathy is the antithesis of change. It pains me to see a race so close. I find it fascinating and yet, not surprising. When politicians and “leaders” poke at the instinct in humans that tends toward tribalism, it is very easy to manipulate and stoke and stir fear. Violence, hateful rhetoric and constant chattering and othering…is not the country that I want to live in. My heart burns for a brighter future. My heart burns for equal opportunities for all citizens. My heart burns for a free and safe Gaza. My heart burns for clean air to breathe for my potential children, my nieces, nephews and friend’s beautiful children. My heart burns for a world where we can be involved in politics and the society around us voting for the candidate that we LOVE, and that truly represents progress verses one who is a maligned bumbling character who is a threat to not only women’s reproductive freedoms but their physical bodies. My heart burns for food abundance and educational abundance for all children and all people who suffer and work and still can’t connect two ends to survive. My heart burns for a world where see our commonalities with brighter lenses than we see our differences. My heart burns for people to more easily decipher fact from fiction. My heart burns for people to realize that yes, your vote and the action of voting alone is a rally and a call to action for the individual as well as the collective. In India they insure that every ballot is cast. They sent voting volunteers to remote villages to allow for the ascetics to cast their votes. One of the original motivations for the founding of the Ku Klux Klan was to stop newly free black Americans from running for office

Stripped. What are we harvesting? Let us hope that it is far more than sorrow. Sorrow is unsustainable. And it leaves innocent hearts shattered in its wake. These images are from a shoot that I had the pleasure to be a part of with @luisfabini over the summer. I was eager to explore a more pared down and minimalistic approach which is ever present in his documentation style. Raw and human. I also had a broken heart and felt like laying it bare before the camera. Sending you love wherever you may be. In a time when it’s so badly needed globally. Even though we go into the cold introspective darkness of winter, I hope that you are able to bring forth a blessed personal fruitful harvest.
It is my 34th year. Another year with the privilege to travel around the sun. There is air in my lungs.
Holy cow, there is air in my lungs.
My feet and curiosity carry me through the world. I am surrounded by incredible beings. I stumble. I falter. I am verbose and communicative, yet I misspeak. My eyes are open.
And, still, they want to rest.
I want to do more. I want to do less.
I want a head full of ideas and creativity. I want a mind full of calmness and tranquility.
I want to know and comprehend all the secrets that the universe holds.
I want to appreciate that the joy and wisdom comes from not knowing.
Curiosity.
I am blessed, and I am privileged. I am thankful that I get to do what I love for a living. To travel to incredible places. To be loved and appreciated.
And to share art with phenomenal people.
Above all, there is air in my lungs.
