My first ever self directed solo performance as part of New Earth Theatre and the Birmingham Hippodrome programme.
It was Inspired by a story my mum told me about the legendary Kelantanese warrior queen, Cik Siti Wan Kembang. A mythic figure i then had to find in my imagination as so little was actually written about her. Still, 500 years later she still lives on in collective memory and somehow found her way to me in Birmingham!
I keep thinking about that. How stories travel. How they survive…
So grateful to the wonderful people who held me through this and helped me bring her to life, also soundtracked by Rage Against the Machine, because YES 🤟
I’m hoping she’ll get another outing one day!

R&D weekend with these wonderful human beings at Birmingham Hippodrome x New Earth Theatre Makers Academy.
A few days of exploring our solo work yet remaining connected within ensemble ❤️. We showcase our work next year eek. A few more R&D’s to go!
Loved working with @howlingbells on the creative direction and photography for their album artwork - their first record in a decade! A joy to help shape the visual world for Strange Life.
Shot at the beautiful @thenickelcinema , with music video and creative brilliance by @orlandocubitt , and hair + makeup by @alicevoliver .
Can’t wait for this one to be out in the world. Catch them live at the @locktavern on Nov 5!
Super stoked to be creating alongside this inspiring bunch — six months of collaboration and original work, leading to a showcase next year. Big thanks to New Earth Theatre & Birmingham Hippodrome for this op 🌟
FINALLY (slowly 🐌 🚤) heading back to central after a long 6 months mooring outside the oyster zone 😅.
It’s been a winter of nature by torch light, escapee horses, long long commutes, fresh air (when not next to a sewage plant), ppl who say hello and want to chat, finding new foodie treasures in unexpected places. The only wish was that I had the time to slow down and enjoy the nature more. Lesson, if you don’t actively make time you’ll forever be in the rat race pace even outside the capital!
Still, happy to be returning mainly so I can see friends more and not dread the trek home. Simple things ❤️.
I rarely post on social but this film project has been a big moment. It’s my return to directing narrative in what feels like an eternity - for a long time i’ve not felt brave enough nor felt like I had anything worthwhile to say and share until these amazing, amazing people from @newearththeatre academy walked into my life. This has been a collaborative journey from beginning to end, every step of the way from devising together to triple roles on set!
This post is mainly a huge thank you to everyone and I can’t wait to share the final film. ❤️❤️❤️

It’s been a long hiatus - finally back on stage. A bit of a big pivot emotionally but feeling incredibly humbled and moved to be part of this performance and programme with these wonderful humans.
It’s reminded me of why I got into theatre in the first place and why creating these spaces to tell these stories is so, so important. A place where we can safely deep dive and begin to legitimise who we are and where we come from.

Bye bye Misty Badger 🦡! Life on you has been mad and challenging but you’ve also made London seem softer and dreamier. Not to mention the insane satisfaction of living off grid in a capital city...
BUT we’re not leaving the cut yet…the adventure continues when we get Misty Badger II ✌🏽!
Despite all the heavy news atm, it’s such a joy to be back at the Zawiya community allotment with my dad.
Here’s to spring and digging up many more GIANT beetroot. 🌞🥬 💜
