What was supposed to be a relaxing start to a work trip quickly turned into a real life nightmare…
I flew to a conference early to be the “mom” of the trip - grocery shopping, unpacking, making everyone dinner.
Halfway through unpacking, I heard the door open.
Footsteps.
I was completely alone.
I grabbed my pepper spray and held the intruder at “pepper-spray point” while fumbling with my other hand to activate an @invisawear emergency alert so @adtsecurity could contact police.
Thankfully I wasn’t hurt, but that moment made me realize something terrifying: in an emergency, every. second. matters.
Having the ability to defend yourself is just as important as having the ability to call for help.
This experience inspired our newest product launch… something that’s never been done before in the history of personal safety.

She should have made it to work safely.
Early Monday morning, a woman was found wounded in her car at the Texas Medical Center parking garage after being attacked by an unknown man at her place of work. He is still at large.
Parking garages and parking lots remain some of the top places women tell us they feel unsafe.
While this should never be the reality women face, it’s why we believe personal safety should be part of your everyday routine.
To help more women feel confident, aware, and prepared wherever they go.

TEACH YOUR BOYS TO BE BETTER.
Girls are raised with a rulebook for survival before they’re even old enough to understand why.
Don’t stay out too late. Don’t trust too quickly. Keep your phone in your hand. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Meanwhile, far less attention is spent teaching boys how not to become the reason those rules exist in the first place.
The conversation shouldn’t only be about teaching women how to avoid harm. It should also be about raising people who don’t create it. 🖤
