We have an extreme violence problem in this country. Driven by hate and fear, it has caused more pain than any one of us can individually imagine.
To build a world centered on love, we must abandon violence, fear, and hatred. We must work to see peace not only as a tool in resistance but as a virtue in everyday life.
This MLK Day, we recommit to Dr. King’s vision: a safer Illinois for everyone. Public safety starts with care, not criminalization.
We have a goal, we have a plan, and we’re going to keep marching until we get there! The goal? A safer Illinois. The plan? Passing the Responsibility in Firearm Legislation (RIFL) Act. RIFL will save lives, save IL taxpayers $$, help fund community violence intervention programs, and finally make the firearm industry pay its fair share of the costs of gun injury and death.
