Introducing the wonderfully talented actor, dancer and singer, and my friend, Kalonjee Gallimore @kalon.jee I first met Kalonjee back in grad school when he and I were cast in a musical workshop together. Even then, you could see it in his eyes that he was going to do great things in his career and that his hunger for performance, musical theater and acting was boundless. The director and I used to talk about how “this kid is going to be on Broadway someday”. We knew it was not a matter of if but simply a matter of when. This dude is a triple threat. He can dance, he can sing and he can act. He can do it all. And yeah, he is BRILLIANT at it all! Right after graduating from NYU Tisch, Kalonjee made his feature film debut as Johnny in “Girls Getaway Gone Wrong 2” and THEN he did what everyone who meets him must have known he would do, what we thought in that rehearsal room watching Kalonjee work… he would turn his dream into a reality. He is currently making his Broadway debut in the hit musical “A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical.” And I’m proud to say that he kills it on that stage. I am proud of Kalonjee for his belief in himself, being a fierce friend and believing in others and all the work he has done, is doing and will continue to do. Keep going buddy.
When getting ready to make this post, I asked Kalonjee to tell me more about him so my followers could get a sense about who he is as an artist and he said he is “a multi-hyphenate black and queer storyteller based in New York City. He seeks to tell compelling stories across a variety of mediums oriented around community, love, freedom, and the outer limits of fantastical/scientific imagination. BLACK LIVES MATTER!
