I’m about to hit 6 years at @chezpanisse and I think starting this job during this summer/autumn crossover might be one of the reasons I love this time of produce so much. It was at Chez that I learned to value the best of the best fruit from the best local farms and appreciating them for their special and complex taste and for their perfectly imperfect beauty. This wedding cake might be one of my all time favorites both in the autumnal look of it, and in its fun flavors.

Prepping and baking for pop-ups in THREE different places is not easy, but with all three places within walking distance to each other, you can often find me before/after pop-ups wheeling my little wagon around the neighborhood. It’s silly, but I know it’s probably one of those “for now” things, so tedious as it feels, I also kind of love it 😅
