So, depressionā¦..it leaks and then it floods.
I had all the goals this month. I would survive my job, finish the classes, start this that and the other. I thought Iād record all the videos to apply for all the festivals, go for all the bookings and end my hiatus on a strong note. I thought I would follow through on my costume ideas and make new pasties. I thought Iād have energy to show up for others. I thought Iād address the disastrous mess that is my home so I can let all the creativity flow, let people in, and finally have the retreat from all the shit ass fuck shit accumulating in this shit hole country.
But my body and mind said no. Whatever part of me had all this intent and certainty is tapped out and doesnāt have anything left. Itās been tapped out for weeks and the weight of anything and everything is trying to squeeze out more. I know itās not forever, but it is now. This year was wonderful in a lot of ways and so fucking awful in a ton of other ways. I donāt believe in resolutions. I do believe in intentions. I intend to go into 2026 with a clearer vision of home, community, creativity and love. Thatās all I need right now. I hope you get what you need, too.
