South Asian digital art deserves to be seen, remembered, and understood. Yet, despite its depth and innovation, it often goes undocumented—lost in scattered servers, overlooked by institutions, or excluded from global platforms.
Colonial legacies, infrastructural gaps, and language barriers have shaped who gets remembered in digital spaces—and how.
That’s why we built SADA: the South Asian Digital Art Archive.
SADA exists to create a space—intentional and postcolonial—for artists across South Asia to preserve and share their digital work on their own terms.

SADA is not just a repository—it’s a methodology.
We collect digital artworks alongside interviews, metadata, and thematic mappings that centre context, consent, and connection.
Works are archived across key curatorial themes such as:
🌀 Climate, Code & Collapse
🌿 Gender, Memory & Migration
🌐 Borders, Bodies & Digital Imagination
Our approach is:
— Postcolonial-by-design
— Community-shaped
This is a third space, where digital storytelling is not extracted, but honoured.
Through this framework, SADA aims to hold space for continuity, challenge hierarchies of value, and co-create a shared digital imagination.

SADA envisions a future where South Asian digital art is archived, accessible, and alive.
Not institutional. Not static. Not neutral.
We see the archive as an evolving entity—grown by artists, maintained by communities, and used to reimagine what digital memory can be.
This is a call to participation.
We are now accepting digital artworks. Be part of this living archive—where stories move across languages, technologies, and time.
Help us shape an archive of care, agency, and inclusive digital futures.
