This bespoke suite, dreamt and brought to life by Amelia of Sable and Serif, is a study in refinement—where heritage detail meets modern romance. With inspirations from the intricate ceiling of @dover_hall ’s storied interiors, every element was thoughtfully considered, from the custom-embossed pattern to the soft drape of silk ribbon and heirloom wax seals.
But her work extends far beyond the invitation itself. From invitation suites to menus, place cards, escort displays, and the smallest paper details that shape a guest’s experience—each piece is designed as part of a cohesive story, layered with meaning and elevated through craftsmanship.

I spent the day painting "en plein air" with the Virginia Plein Air Painters (VPAP) at the orchid greenhouses of Chadwick & Son, renowned for their extraordinary hybrid and heirloom cattleyas. 🌸
It was my first time painting en plein air since college (albeit in the comfort of a warm greenhouse), drawing from nearly 100-year-old plants once prized for corsages in the 1940s. I left with a finished study—and a camera roll full of inspiration for future orchid paintings.

If you've been thinking about an off-season wedding, this might just convince you to take the leap. There's something so beautifully intimate about this table setting bathed in rich autumn hues, with golden light filtering through as the sun hangs low in the sky.
But here's what really makes my heart skip: the menu becomes so much more than just a list of courses. It becomes part of the atmosphere.
For this Lake Como design, I hand-painted a custom watercolor of the setting and sealed it into each menu like a tiny piece of art tucked into a locket. It's those little details that make a wedding feel truly yours.
