This week we trade in the prop mics for real ones! I will be dressed like I’m paying homage to that time I played Tanya in Mamma Mia. Seriously, it’s been so much fun rehearsing this silly music concert. It feels very reminiscent of when we were kids performing full numbers to convince our parents to let us have a sleepover. Come hang out with me and my besties while we live out our pop star dreams July 17-26! Arsonist on the Loose I wrote this one in my last year of undergrad, and it was meant to be part of my thesis musical. Long story short, I never ended up mounting a production. My ideas were overambitious and I had a tendency to self sabotage right as things got serious. However, this song, a personal favourite of mine, has followed me into my mid twenties as a character study of myself. It’s a candid look at the thoughts that led me down the road of isolation and self destruction. It burns, and sparks, and grows as unpredictably as fire. Maybe one day the full musical will be ready, but I think there’s a lot more the main character needs to live through first. Let me know what you think :) Music and lyrics by Saad Sheikh Produced by Iain Mahanty, Emma Whale, Saad Sheikh Mixed and Mastered by Emma Whale

It’s time to “go-go get it together” and grab your tickets for my show in the Hamilton Fringe Festival! It’s a compilation of my favourite songs I’ve written over the past year, and I get to perform it with two of my favourite people! Jessica Quino and Catherine Allen are my backup dancers for this pop star dream, but they’re the main event for me! I can’t wait for you to see them dazzling the numbers expertly choreographed by Catherine Allen. Special thanks to Bella Herrera for stage managing this riot! Hope to see you there! 📸: @kindreyk

Shoebox Apartment comes out tonight at midnight and I have a lot of feelings and some confessions. I wrote this song back in May of this year, right after I finished my last year at university. The days were starting to feel lighter but something deep within me was still weighing me down. It was my inner child; dissatisfied with my lack of attempts to pursue my dreams… I remember being such a wide eyed hopeful kid. Weren’t we all? Somewhere down the line, that changed. I fear I crushed the spirit of my inner child. What a monster I was. So, this song is simply an attempt to repair that bond with him. This one’s for the dreamers, the believers, the hopeless romantics. This one’s for me. This song was produced by the incredible Emma Whale and Will Crann at Catherine North Studios. Emma and Will, thank you SO much for your brilliant work on my song. Forever grateful and flabbergasted that my first song has such KILLER production. Thank you X11 Thank you so much to everyone for all your love and support. Shoebox Apartment is out everywhere at midnight. LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
