It’s here! The podcast SOME of you have been waiting for ahahah 🖤 Ah no I actually got a good few cute messages about it which make me feel ✨seen✨ and ✨cringe✨ but yknow I’m actually happy with the episode because I love researching and I love ranting about it, it’s ideal really. I’m also content that it’s not perfect, it never will be. Great! That means more space to play. First episode of ‘Taking the Bliss’ is about surviving 19th century Ireland. It explores s*x werk, workhouses, deportations, asylums and more! I’d love if ye gave it a listen and a share (I am still figuring out how to get it on more platforms so sorry if it’s not there on the one you use just yet. I’m just a grown women with incredibly mediocre tech skills) Xx

A familiar rant I go on in many dance related spaces & something I think of often. It’s not solely with these movements but is a common collective experience! That’s also why ratios of hyper-mobility are so skewed in these places because there’s been recent research linking neurodivergence and hyper mobility. Although hypermobility has been known about since like, the 4th century, because it mainly impacts women (particularly WOC) they didn’t really give a fck (shocker). It’s not exclusive to neurodivergence but this new data coming out suggests the weakening of collagen (that creates the hyper mobility) can be linked to nervous system disregulation, an overactive fight/flight response, issues with bodily introspection- along with the usual genetic assumptions, which are all pretty common for neurodivergent individuals (particularly in this case autism, ADHD and Tourette syndrome). It’s showing too that people with high anxiety are at a higher risk too. So that’s fun! 💖 If you’re neurodivergent you’re twice as likely to by hyper mobile and it’s even higher if you’re AFAB so… look out for that divas xx

The Fox, the Fool and the Hiding of Women’s Arses - February episode!! 🦊 What starts as a tangled tale of foxes, women and 14th century slut shaming, ends in an ode to closeted bis*xual men and much more. I talk about the similarities of the Middle Ages s*xual delusions and modern day inc3ls. I also explore the use of AI to remove (and add) clothing without other’s consent, the Catholic church’s financial reasons for celibacy, and the encouraged confusion between sensual desire and control. Some movement is better than no movement! 💋(even if it’s not particularly captured in anything glamourous) The wintery months are hard on our physical and mental health and general energy levels so I try to take away some of the obstacles, like the 10-15mins spent BEFORE stretching to set up the space (especially if I’m just not feeling great. It can be nice to make the space special but sometimes it’s just not in the cards 🤪) Because, regardless of how it looks, the priority is to feel better and more connected to my bod and breath and every day of that is gonna look and feel different. Come learn some stretchin’ stuff with me on my P@treon over the winter! ❄️ very beginner friendly! I was in the middle of sorting laundry but I had to have a little dance to this sad and enjoyable new Lily Allen tune and album. My goal for dancing in the next while is just to make movements feel natural again. New Megan Thee Stallion AND Lily Allen music this week?? That’s a pretty big deal in my house xx
