Just kidding….. kind of 😂 What do I really say? 1. Work hard. Always. The other team might be better but they should never outwork you. 2. I love you, and I believe in you. That’s one of the most powerful things you can tell someone. “I believe in you” When you have other people that believe in you, that helps carry you when you’re struggling. Especially when it’s someone you’re close to. 3. Last…….run through a mutha f***ers face. Even if you don’t know exactly how to do something the “best” way. Do it hard and aggressively. That will carry you a long way. Most people will quit after you do that long enough, even if they’re better. It might not be Kurt Russell in Miracle, but it’s pretty solid advice before a game, and for life too. 🤘🏻

Life happens, episode 3 got out of order, got a few more in the hopper and as always, I’m taking requests for the next store to get whacked 🤔

April was a lot of work and a lot of family. Figuring out how to thrive in chaos, not just survive it.

There was a time in my life when the awards and ME winning mattered. More than anything. I obsessed over it. I had something to prove and losing felt like the end of the world. Now? raising my kids to be good human beings and individuals that will actually contribute to society is THE win. Obviously me winning matters. I gotta set an example for what they should strive for, and provide for them. But my individual wins mean nothing compared to When their school principal tells me: “If we had 500 kids like your sons in our school, I’d never retire.” We got a short time on Earth. Whether it’s kids or something else, the next generation and what you leave behind is all we got.

Self awareness You can swing an axe all day hitting a tree but if your blade is dull you aren’t gonna get very far. Your intent behind cutting the tree down, how hard you’re working, none of that matters when your axe is dull. This isn’t an excuse to be lazy so you can “sharpen your blade”. It means being able to realize where you’re messing up, where you’re coming up short and fixing it. You reach a point where everyone is working hard and if you aren’t effective, you aren’t gonna make it very far. Your ability to assess where you’re not up to standard and then fixing that will dictate your ability to get ahead. Sharpen your blade.

Loyalty- A strong, steadfast, and unwavering commitment, dedication, or devotion to a person, group, cause, or ideal. It involves a continuous, often CHOSEN, faithfulness that persists through challenges or temptation to betray. It is characterized by actions like support. The key word in that definition is CHOSEN. The grass ISN’T greener. Not unless you make it that way. Truth is, the grass isn’t green because you haven’t been taking care of it. You haven’t been doing what YOU need to do, to make it green. If you aren’t loyal, you end bouncing from one person, place or thing to another, and THIS TIME is always better right?…… until it’s not. For the same reasons as always. You’ll be tempted in relationships, in your career, in fitness, everywhere. Stay loyal.

Everyone has their own favorite preworkout. There’s no real “best” one. Evan’s is Kre-Ex and you can’t really knock it for anything…..it has an obnoxiously high dose of EVERYTHING. Stage one is Cade’s. The Goldilocks of preworkouts. Not too much, not too little “just right” for beginners and experienced lifters alike. That doesn’t mean those are best for you though….what’s your favorite preworkout?

Round #3 in the books. @joel.wilson314_ said he’s been studying…… should Manchester be next?? 🤔 Recap: -arachidonic acid increases prostaglandins and inflammation increasing muscle protein synthesis AKA repairing and building muscles. Take 1-1.5g preworkout to help with VO2 max and growing muscles. Works best to bust a plateau in experienced lifters -beet root powder increases nitric oxide production which helps with blood flow, circulation and blood pressure. Only draw back it tastes like beets -fats are more than 2X the calories as protein and carbs. ALS have the lowest thermic effect. Eating fats isn’t bad but they are VERY easy to over consume. #themoreyouknow 🌈💫

Supplements are exactly that. A supplement to your nutrition and exercise! They are a piece of the puzzle for kids just like adults. Protein- whey is one of, if not the BEST protein sources there is. Picky eaters, if your kids are struggling to gain weight, a good whey protein is a great option. And SAFE. Milk protein is whey and casein. So if your kiddos eat cheese, yogurt, or drink milk they are already taking in whey. Scale back the amount to match your kiddo’s size and your good 👍🏻 Multivitamins- our body runs on micro nutrients before it ever uses carbs or protein, it needs vitamins and minerals. As much as kids are growing and developing if they are lacking vitamins, they’re lacking everywhere. 💊 Gut health- gut health is linked to mood, attention span, immune system, hormones as well as the obvious digestion. Most kids aren’t eating a lot fiber and fermented foods. Probiotics and fiber are perfectly safe and beneficial for your kid. 👌🏻 Creatine- almost 4 decades of research saying it’s safe and beneficial. Whether your kids are athletes trying to perform better or if you just want them to have the cognitive benefits have them take it. Scale back the dose a little bit since they’re smaller and you’re golden. 🧠 Obviously there’s other options and supplements that work. There’s also ones your kids don’t need and shouldn’t take. Drop kid sup question in the comments ⬇️

The older you get the more you realize you don’t actually know everything. This is a bad habit that me and pretty much everyone that has ever been lucky enough to work their way into a leadership role somewhere has fallen into. You THINK you know. “That’s stupid, they don’t get what it’s like!” “I’m not gonna do that when I get promoted!” Etc. etc…… Have some humility, don’t be too righteous and try to learn from your leaders. They’ve been where you are most of the time, and even if they haven’t, you think they want you to do bad? How does your failing help them? There’s a lot of pressure that comes with leadership. Whether it’s at work or being a parent at home….and if you’re lucky enough you’ll get to feel that pressure someday, and you’ll realize how much you really didn’t know.
