How do you take mushrooms and leaves and make them into a foamed plastic substitute? We’re happy to explain! Swipe the carousel to see a brief explanation of our production cycle. Of course, it does not cover all the details, but it gives a general understanding of HOW IT IS DONE 🌱 Fun fact: each kilogram of S.Lab packaging saves 10 liters of water compared to traditional polystyrene production. This is because we reuse the water that was dehydrated from the products at the final stages to moisten new ones at the beginning of the cycle. Circularity in action!

What’s inside? 🌱 Ever wondered what makes S.Lab packaging truly sustainable? It all comes down to two powerful, plant-based ingredients working in perfect synergy: 🌾 Agricultural waste – plant fiber leftovers from farming (like hemp or linen), that gives the material rigidity and structure acting as a matrix while repurposing plant waste that would otherwise go unused. 🍄 Mycelium – network of fungi root-like structure that has strong binding properties and is acting as nature’s glue. It grows and binds all the plant waste particles together, creating a durable, shock-absorbing structure — perfect for protecting fragile items. Together these two components form a packaging solution that is: ✅ 100% natural – no synthetic additives, just pure bio-based materials. ✅ Fully #biodegradable – decomposes in just 30 days, returning to nature. ✅ Has superior properties in terms of durability, water proof, thermal insulation and fire resistance - due to strength of the plant waste and binding power of mycelium We believe packaging should protect your products — without harming the planet ♻️ Would you switch to bio-based packaging? Let us know below! 👇 #SustainablePackaging #Mycelium

What can I make with S.Lab? The short answer is: anything. It could be a lodgement for a box or the box itself.Rounded or sharp edges, asymmetrical or very symmetrical forms. It can be packaging for electronics, home decor, cosmetics or... It can go beyond packaging at all. Fun fact: our first commercial order was tableware for one of the Ukrainian restaurants @alltrueeast . That was a while ago and now we are focused on packaging, but the potential of shapes & sizes remains unlimited. Swipe and see! 100% biodegradable. Water-resistant. Natural 🌱

This company reached out to us before they had a single product on the shelf. Back in 2021, GYD already knew one thing: foam inserts wouldn't work for them. Not for a fragrance brand whose whole identity is built on natural materials. It would've contradicted everything they stood for before the customer even opened the box. So we started from scratch. A custom box, grown from agricultural waste and mycelium, shaped around their bottle geometry. Home-compostable. It went public within a few months after the first test shapes. Now it's one of the most talked-about things associated with the brand. Customers ask about the material constantly. And some don't compost it at all — they keep it. We wrote a case study on our cooperation with GYD, so read the full story in the blog! (link in bio)

Paris, on t'a adoré 🇫🇷 We just wrapped 3 incredible days at #ChangeNOW — one of the world's leading sustainability summits. And what a ride it was! 🏆 We competed in the Circular Economy category pitching competition. And won 😎 But beyond the trophy, what made this event truly special: Our CEO & Co-founder Julia Bialetska hosted a 45-minute workshop on the future of sustainable materials. There was a room full of people and the conversations kept going long after it ended. We had the chance to meet and exchange with some of the world's most iconic companies: Chanel Hermes, Moet, Electrolux, LOreal, Saint Gobain, LVMH, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari. Each of them is on their own sustainability journey and we’d be excited to be a part of it. Unexpectedly, but we dove deep into new fields for us: construction and the middle of the supply chain. The opportunities here are massive and we're excited to explore 🏗️ 🇺🇦 And a very special moment: connecting with the Ukrainian delegation and visiting the Ukrainian house. In a room full of global changemakers, finding your people hits different. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to the whole team who made it happen 💚 On to the next one!

What unites a pepper mill, a mascara brush and a fruit sticker? All of these count as packaging under #PPWR. Most people picture boxes and bottles. But the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation covers anything used to contain, protect, handle, deliver or present a product. And the edge cases are longer than most people realise. Every item in scope must meet requirements on recyclability, #recycled content, minimisation and labelling. Swipe through to see five examples that catch companies off guard 👉 And if you want to rethink your secondary #packaging, let's talk 📩

You can now buy S.Lab packaging in sets 🌱 Switching packaging starts with testing it. As you know, we’ve recently launched an e-shop with pre-made packaging for those who don’t need customisation. And now, to give you a better understanding of our basic line, we’ve launched product kits. With kits you can: - compare shapes and sizes to find the best fit - test the protection of different pre-made items - get physical samples before committing to a custom order So start small, test in real-world conditions and scale when you’re ready. S.Lab has turned 4 years old 🎈 Four is not yet an anniversary, it’s more like… a birthday with a small cake and big dreams. At 4, kids are still learning, asking too many questions and growing every single day. That’s us! We’re still figuring things out, constantly trying, failing, learning and growing. But at the same time, 4 is already old enough for some very grown-up things. Old enough to raise funds. Old enough to scale production and think beyond the lab. Old enough to be featured on Nasdaq. So yes, we’re still small, like the kids in the picture (can you guess who is who from the team?) But we’re also brave enough to build, to scale and to take responsibility for what we’re creating. Happy 4th birthday to us 💚 The growing continues 🌱

“Quite luxury” has been a trending search over the last few years. In fashion it is easy to recognise: simple yet high-quality pieces and brands designated for the “if you know you know” audience. But what would be a quiet luxury in packaging? We believe a quiet luxury in packaging means soft, natural materials, packaging as an experience, the accent on tactile feelings. It whispers: what’s inside is a high-quality product. S.Lab material is exactly that kind of quiet luxury. It’s grown, not molded. Made from agricultural waste and mycelium, without additives or coatings. Soft to the touch, warm in feel, naturally imperfect in texture. You notice it when you hold it, but not because it demands attention, it just feels right. We design material that doesn’t try to look expensive. No, it feels considered, calm and intentional. And the best part: it is certified for home compost. So after usage your customers could just throw packaging in their home compost bin or bury it in the garden. Win for your brand, win for your customers’ experience, win for nature. 👀 Explore pre-made designs at s-lab.bio/shop (link in bio!) or contact us for a custom solution.
