Bumpy roads build teams that deliver. @mastersofdirt Vienna. 4 shows in 3 days. 30k people. A lot happening at once. Not everything went as planned. Parts of the setup went down. Overnight rebuild to get everything back up. At the same time: shows, content, interviews, overnight edits. Gear close to the limit. Us too. No big story. Just work to be done. Over the past 3 months, together with my amazing team, we’ve been responsible for the full video production of the @mastersofdirt 2025 European Tour – both live and off-stage content. The tour included 14 stops across various cities in Europe, where we set up not only the full live video production at the arena with video mixers and all the gear, but also a dedicated backstage video studio for interviews and additional content, for both MOD and also for long piece for @redbull TV. Managing both the live feed and behind-the-scenes production at every location was a challenging but rewarding part of the job. We set ourselves a clear goal: upgrade the entire experience for both the audience and the athletes. More professional, more dynamic, and fully thought-out in every detail. One thing that was especially important for me was to make the entire video setup as wireless and flexible as possible. Not only to speed up the setup process at every location, but also to allow us to adapt quickly to each venue’s specific challenges. And guess what? It worked – despite a few voices saying it wouldn’t 😉 We introduced a lot of new technology at the FOH video control, improving both communication within the team and the visual presentation of the show. One of the highlights was a unique wireless POV camera mounted directly on FMX riders, allowing us to broadcast their live perspective straight to the arena screens – giving the audience an immersive, first-person view of the action. The months leading up to the tour were crazy stressful – long days and even longer nights spent on planning, testing, and logistics. But once we survived the first couple of shows, the satisfaction kicked in – seeing the results on stage and hearing great feedback from all parties involved in this huge production was 100% worth it. This is easily one of the craziest tricks I’ve ever seen or filmed. It took couple of tries to make the timings all correct between @timbringer , moto rider and me with the camera, but once this was done, he did it first go… WTF 🤯
