We lost one of the great ones today. Pablo brought smiles and goodwill to everybody whose path he crossed. He was 1 1/2 years old when I adopted him 15 years ago as a scrappy chiweenie pup. We formed a super-tight bond like ET and Elliot while adventuring through the green areas around Atlanta. Recently he was battling multiple illnesses which had us at the vet frequently, but he remained strong and stoic until the end. I’m missing him a ton already. Mountain hikes and neighborhood walks will always feel incomplete. Rest in Peace old friend. 😭

I’ve been working towards a looser, more painterly style for a few years now, but often halfway through a piece I will revert to my comfort zone of heavy lines and a tons of detail. On this piece though, I managed to keep it loose without over-working things and I think it captures the essence of the place better. BTW - Image was inspired and referenced from a trip to Lake Winfield Scott (Suches, GA) in late summer a few years ago when the water level was low and the area was marshy.
