When we moved to Japan 3 years ago, we made a decision as a team: to fully live this life. To not spend our time wishing we were somewhere else or waiting for life to look different—but to make this chapter as beautiful and meaningful as possible.
I think so much of life comes down to that choice. You can believe you’re supposed to be somewhere else, or you can surrender to the life in front of you and decide to really live it. Make ordinary moments feel extraordinary.
Japan has taught us so much—but maybe the biggest lesson is this: beautiful lives aren’t always found, sometimes they’re created by how fully you choose to live the one in front of you 🩷🌸🍑

What makes me the proudest isn’t just what he’s built on the court—it’s who he is off of it.
To know Ryan is to know how deeply he loves his family.
The way he protects us, the way he leads with intention, the way he thinks through every decision and its impact on others… I see it all.
And if you know him, you know this too—he stands on loyalty. He protects what he loves.
And that kind of love speaks for itself… always.
He’s steady, he’s selfless, and he never forgets what truly matters.
And I just feel so lucky to stand beside him through all of it, and we make a good team🤍

When I met Ryan, I told him I wanted to live overseas… he said we probably never would.
Anyway… here we are. 3 years in Japan later😂🇯🇵
Dreams don’t stay dreams forever 🫶
(This was from my birthday in January, but I found it in my drafts)

Ryan has officially been selected to join the Japan Men’s National Basketball Team coaching staff 🇯🇵🏀🔥
There are people who do their work with their whole heart—quietly, intentionally, and with deep respect for what they’ve been given to do. Watching Ryan coach has always felt like witnessing someone exactly where they’re meant to be.
From the first moment I saw him step into a head coaching role, I felt it deeply—this wasn’t just a job. It was something he had been preparing for over a lifetime. Some paths don’t need to be forced or learned; they’re already lived. Seeing him as HC on the court felt like alignment in its purest form.
What many don’t see are the years that led here. More than 15 years of dedication and work. The sacrifices made long before our paths crossed. The long nights, the risks, the moments of doubt—each one quietly shaping the leader and coach he is today.
Ryan has always approached basketball as service. In the way he speaks to players. In the way he speaks about the game. Always with care, humility, and respect—for the people, the process, and the responsibility that comes with leading something greater than himself.
National basketball carries a special kind of meaning. It represents a country’s pride, culture, and future. It inspires the next generation and helps grow the game far beyond any single team or season. To be entrusted with that role is not just an honor—it’s a responsibility rooted in purpose.
For as long as I’ve known Ryan, one of his dreams has been to be part of a national team. To serve the game at the highest level and give back in a way that reaches beyond one locker room. To be entrusted with a role like this in Japan, our new home—where commitment, discipline, and respect are so deeply valued—is an honor we do not take lightly.
Now, that dream becomes reality.
So proud of you, Ry.
So grateful to witness this journey.
And so excited for what’s ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us—and please continue to support Japanese basketball 🤍
