John, I have zero idea how my life would’ve been if we never met. You got us into dance and we practiced till midnight together, our friend group started off with you being at the center, you were the first one to get a driver’s license and drove us places at night, doing stupid shit and being the teenagers the city tries to get rid of. You introduced to me to that shitty $8 whisky that traumatized me for years. We’d see each other at school and hang out on weekends, no wonder why we all got dumped by our girlfriends. You always had an infectious bright energy, and even when you didn’t have any to spare, you still pulled it out of somewhere. Always made everyone around you wanna be with you one second longer.
W’e’re the luckiest human beings alive to share all the memories with you. You made our lives good.
But even if you didn’t have any of these things and you were just a sorry ass, I still would’ve been your brother. I wanted all of us to get old together and walk around Shibuya with our aching backs and knees. I should’ve told you that.

Shichi-go-san is a day to celebrate the growth of children when they turn 3, 5 and 7. Hard to believe it's been 3 years since the first time I met her at the hospital on the day she was born, and I couldn't be more proud of her parents. God bless their lives filled with love :)
