This past Sunday, Ry and I headed to
@chicagobotanic for what I assumed would be nothing more than a beautiful day spent together honoring his mother on her birthday. We walked. We talked. I talked more. As I babbled on about "Pride and Prejudice," Ry sat down (the boy loves to sit). "These have been a tough couple of years," he said. "Come sit with me." I did. For about three nanoseconds, before I was on my feet again. After a minute or two, I got close enough that Ry grabbed my shoulder and said, "I want to do this life with you forever!" I screamed. I froze. I screamed again. Then I said the only thing I can ever say to those sparkling eyes, that caring smile, that loving, generous, kind soul who sees the best in me, who loves me at my lowest and celebrates me at my highest, who takes a bit to the extreme, and who I know I can count on, always: of course I will! Suddenly,
@yourfavoriteskygremlin ,
@melhubbs , and
@meghubbert appeared before me. I'd been hoodwinked! They were ALL in on it! And I'm grateful to them, now and forever.
...
Ry, I am beyond obsessed with you. I am in awe this city threw us together (thank you, sketch comedy!), and I am thankful forever it did. Yes today, yes forever, to being close to you, my gorgeous, tall man. (Editor's note: "Close to You" as performed by the
@ladygaga on her smash hit album "Harlequin" was supposed to be attached to this post but it keeps breaking the pictures so just play the song in the background while reading!!!)
