Quick Bite @sevenserpents.cc - my first unsupported Ultra Distance Race - Solo! 530km and 10.300m. Incredible 4 days through the Slovenian forests, in company of bears and lynxes, beautiful Croatian islands Krk and Cres and up to Trieste. I didn’t think I’d be able to finish it - especially considering the elevation gain - having only trained in the flatlands of Brandenburg. But I did. One breath at time, one pedal stroke at time, with endless playlists in my ears and sharing smiles and pain with fellow riders met along the way! A breathtaking experience. And arriving in Trieste - a city I both love and hate - was an incredibly cathartic moment for me. I am grateful to my body, much stronger than I ever thought and to the amazing organisation @bruno.gpx and the visual team @gravelmerk @peruzzoandrea_ . Thank you to those who were there for me in the days leading up to the race and during it, sending support and motivation ( you know who you are:)).

Each bike has its owner, and each owner has a story to tell 📚 So we asked our customer Stef, who built her #8barMITTEsteel this winter for her first Ultra challenge @sevenserpents.cc . Here is her story: “In May, I took on Seven Serpents: Quick Bite! – my first SOLO unsupported ultra-distance race: 530 km and over 10,000 meters of climbing. Being my first solo, this was a whole new challenge. Going in, I honestly didn’t know if I’d make it to the end on my own. Most of my training happened on the flat roads of Brandenburg – far from ideal for what was ahead and this kind of elevation gain. Luckily, my new 8bar MITTE with some custom gears was solid from day one and a trusted companion. It carried me through gravel climbs, fast descents, and countless long hours in the saddle. The race pushed me beyond my limits – physically, mentally, emotionally. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion but also moments of calm, unexpected joy, and connection with riders met along the way, which combined with breathtaking landscapes, made it all worth it. Crossing the finish line in Trieste felt surreal – a mix of disbelief, pride, and release.
