Tomorrow we hit the creeks for the biggest local event of the year, The Riverland Dinghy Derby.
It’s been pretty unreal to see how a small local event has turned into something that the whole of Australia wants to be apart of, each year the race gets more exciting & more competitive. Us as locals are stoked to call Renmark the home of the Dinghy Derby.
THE ROOTS OF RYDE
An idea that was born 18 months ago, for a short film not only about Ryde Clothing, but also the inspiring and beautiful place that the brand was born. This place, is called The Riverland.
The film idea sparked when I was travelling Europe in 2019 with no social media, I was reflecting on how different home was and how lucky I feel to live here, a voiceover was scribbled down in my notebook and ‘The Roots of Ryde’ was coming to life.
After plenty of conversations with people from outside the area, people weren’t quite sure what we actually did in this town. I wanted to create something to capture how I, and a lot of the locals here, feel about our home, what it has to offer and all of the cool things we get up to here.
This Project couldn't have happened without a great friend of mine @louisraymo , I brought my ideas to him and he showed just as much passion as I did and wanted to take the lead to bring this to life, so thank you brother, this wouldn't have been possible without you and everyone else that came to feature in the film to make it what it is.
This film is one that sits very close to our hearts and we hope everyone that doesn’t know about The Riverland feels excited to come here and that all of the locals can feel proud to call this place home.
“Mum is our first Coach” is a saying we use at Ryde to recognise where we come from and the care that’s been shown to begin our journey. Thank you to all the Mums around the world, Happy Mothers Day!
