Wrapping up photos of Egypt with @Annelise 2024 with Day 6. We began by traveling from Luxor back to Cairo, where we checked out the Khan Al-Khalili bazaar and later broke Ramadan fast with @explore_egypt_with_hany before prepping for the long flights home. These posts are just a fraction of what we saw and did, I have a full gallery of 600+ photos up on my Flickr account. The trip far exceeded lifelong expectations and I cannot wait for Part 2 next March to finally see Alexandria. You should come too! Booking opens on Sunday - info on @annelisethearchaeologist ’s profile.

I just booked Egypt Part 2 with @annelisethearchaeologist for next March! Follow her for details and come along with us. This set closes out Luxor from the 2024 trip - some extras from Hatshepsut, the Valley of the Nobles, and an evening on the Nile. There’s just one more group of photos to go from that trip before we wrap up the wrap-up.

Next stop on Day 5 of 2024’s Egypt with @annelisethearchaeologist trip was The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is simply breathtaking and still actively being excavated! It was another remarkable bucket list experience.

Egypt with @annelisethearchaeologist 2024 Day 5 began hours before dawn, to catch the sunrise in a hot air balloon over Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. It was absolutely majestic.

Egypt with @annelisethearchaeologist 2024 Day 4: Karnak! Hands down the highlight of the trip - could have spent the entire week here and been happy. Karnak is an enormous temple complex with something extraordinary at every turn.

Egypt with @annelisethearchaeologist 2024 Day 3 brought us to Saqqara. Absolutely incredible hieroglyphs at every turn, plus the step pyramid of Zoser which is the oldest known pyramid (2700 BC)!

Egypt with @annelisethearchaeologist 2024 Day 2 was a lifetime dream come true with visits to Giza and the (old) Egyptian Museum. My “big” camera wasn’t permitted at the Pyramids so those were all #shotoniphone.

It’s only been 2 years and a lifetime ago, but I’ve finally finished going through photos from Egypt in 2024 with @annelisethearchaeologist and @explore_egypt_with_hany . Looking forward to going back for Part 2 next spring! I’m posting some favorites from each day of the trip. This was Day 1, exploring Cairo’s City of the Dead before the official itinerary got underway.
