Jokes aside, if you want to be a film actor, you have to be willing to spend a lot of your time in front of your audition background.

It helps to treat every audition with the mindset of "your one chance to play this character, so have fun with it".

Helpful tip: I don't do more than 3 takes for a scene. If I feel good and like I reacted honestly after 1 take, that's what I submit. Don't overthink it, just listen to your scene partner, let yourself feel and react.

I am constantly auditioning, so having a set up that consistently looks good is SO IMPORTANT.

I may look like an "overnight success", but I have spent more than a decade dreaming of and working towards this life.
2016
- I auditioned for so much theater and didn't book anything. I thought I wasn't cut out for acting in the real world outside of high school, so I took a long break and got a degree. (A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation of all things, my art account is @ryannscanvas 🤷🏻♀️).
2022
- Incredibly burnt out with my full time job, I started acting again. Just small commercials and student films, some local theater here and there.
2023
- A wonderful producer on a commercial recommended me to a kickass agency in Utah. I submitted (with the acting reel I had built over the last year) and got signed! Within a few months I had booked a Lifetime TV movie and a couple SAG feature films. It truly felt like I had finally found my place.
2026
- Film is now my full time job. I have brilliant representation in LA, UT, UK, and Australia!! I have met so many incredible artists and have grown so much as an actor and a person. I am a title character in an indie series that is currently number 1 on Amazon Video!??

And this is just the start.
I'm still just as scrappy, just as passionate, just as hungry.
I'm so excited for what the next decade of courage and audacity will bring <3

I've always been an artist, I've drawn and written and acted for as long as I can remember.

I tried to be a "responsible artist" and went to school for animation. As much as I loved it, I was so burnt out and empty.

So I decided to start acting again. It was a slow process at first. I didn't get any callbacks or book any of my local theater shows. Guys, I was SO NERVOUS. But with every audition, I gained courage. I became audacious.
"Why not me?" And slowly, doors began to open.

Now, here I am with acting as my full time job, traveling the world and getting called back for projects I never DREAMED of.

Don't give up on yourself.

I know I say this a lot, but DO IT SCARED.

That has become my mantra as this year continues to require more and more courage from me 🖤
a peek behind the curtain.
acting is a WILD career path,
some of these, I'll never hear back from,
some of these could change my LIFE,
and it's all completely out of my hands.
