Just over 6 months old and our tiny Olive has already experienced her first snow, spring, a Super Bowl, Japanese cinema, Taco Tuesday, the loss of all of her puppy teeth, and 10,000 hours of naps on laps.
We got a dog and she has been the coolest. Her name is Olive (short for I’ll Have a Dirty Martini With Three Olives Please). She’s so tiny that she fits comfortably on top of a grain of rice. Her Letterboxd Top 4 is: Homeward Bound (1993), See Spot Run (2001), The Sandlot (1993) and Funny Games (1997).
Italian sausage, spinach, and bean soup for some warmth in the last few days of 2022. Easily the best dish I’ve made in a long time. Considering bathing, sleeping, and living in the soup throughout the next few months.

First attempt at a slow-cooked brisket was how the kids say, “very good!” Turned it into a delicious open-faced sandwich. Fun process, high yield of food. Gonna be eating real well for a couple days.

Happy 3rd Birthday Nora! She is still alive and well and here is the proof! She asked for, “One of those Basic Birthdays.” So I got her a sash and tiara for the Big 0-3, and she enjoyed her favorite breakfast this morning: a cup of water. I promise I am not going crazy.
