🎧 OUT TODAY — Between Two Silences 🎶
I’m THRILLED to share that our new Reverso album, Between Two Silences, is out today!
This music has been a long time in the making, and it means a lot to finally share it with you all.
This record is our response to the strange, beautiful world of Erik Satie — his restraint, his irony, the way he lets silence speak just as loudly as sound.
Recorded between continents, shaped over years, and brought to life by this trio:
Frank Woeste 🎹
Vincent Courtois 🎻

📣 🎶 We’re hitting the road playing music from our upcoming album Between Two Silences. Tour starts in NYC on Feb. 24!
Who’s coming? 👀
#Reverso #JazzTour #NewAlbum #LiveExperience #chamberjazz
Somewhere between memory and silence, a melody lingers.
Today we’re sharing the full Café des fantômes mélancoliques video, the first single from our upcoming album Between Two Silences — a project inspired by the life and aesthetic world of Erik Satie.
This piece lives in that fragile space Satie inhabited so fearlessly — suspended between irony and tenderness, clarity and ambiguity.
The full album arrives March 27.
NYC release show Feb 24 at Mezzrow.
Paris release show April 17 at Le Triton.

😊 I’m very excited to be heading back to Brazil this month to work with the faculty and students at @conservatoriodetatui and for a run of concerts with my dear friends and collaborators in Coletivo do Brasil and Urbem 🇧🇷
Brazilian music has been one of the deepest musical inspirations in my life for many years now, so getting to make and share music with local Brazilian musicians and audiences there is always a highlight.

ISJAC is celebrating National Jazz Appreciation Month by highlighting blogs from our past! {direct link in comments}
Trombonist, composer, and bandleader Ryan Keberle @ryankeberle joined the Blog in July, 2019 to discuss identifying specific traits in music that has inspired him, how to be analytical without ruining the magic, and his love of Musica Popular Brasileira (MPB).
“Why does Jimmy Cobb’s ride pattern FEEL so good and how does it differ from the ordinary ride pattern of aspiring jazz students? Why does Duke Ellington’s music elicit so much excitement and maintain the focus of the listener? Why does the voice of Milton Nascimento almost bring me to tears? I don’t pretend to have all the answers but I have found this process of musical interrogation to be incredibly inspiring and fruitful in my creative process, and l hope to inspire others to perhaps dig a little deeper and listen more carefully and thoughtfully to the music they love.”

🎶 🎧 🎹 🎻📎 Out now! — Between Two Silences
This music lives in the space between things…
between sound and silence, structure and freedom.
A huge thank you to Erwan Boulay for bringing this sound to life, to David Stith for the beautiful artwork,
and to my incredible bandmates — Frank Woeste and Vincent Courtois — for creating this world together.
