Eb had a way of making people feel. I never had an encounter with him that didn’t make me feel something, not a conversation, not a comedy set. He fully expressed his humanity to us all the time. Eb was great, truly great. He had everything that great talent has, nothing was missing in his talent. His talent was perfect.
Life is so hard, so many people live under the weight of life. Life is becoming more and more insulated from community. Our lives are full of good people having a bad time. Let’s be gentle with each other.
I wish life was more gentle with him.
RIP Eb, I will miss you.
It’s one my my life’s great joys to share my life with comedians. Please go watch #onlyjokesallowed on @netflixisajoke
I’m in awe of these comedians, they deserve the world.
I'M PUBLISHED (Sort of) @schalkiebez asked me to write something for his recently launched book,
Truitjie roer my nie oor Kempton en ander k-woorde. Please read it, the quote and his book!
Look at this glow up. Look at the crowd's reaction to his presence. Met this guy in Ocean Basket in Lenz to tell him I think he's funny and he must keep doing this comedy thing. He's since gone on to become an original act, that's always true to his values, with awards and accolades reserved for only the best! So proud of you. Video is from his debut special I had the privilege of producing. What a great night of comedy it was. It's a day late, but Happy Birthday my guy!
