A few years ago, Bangladesh gave us stories, laughter, perspective, and moments I still carry with me. Filming for @zayedsustainabilityprize with @robobakov was one of those rare projects that stays with you. Forever grateful to @orcaaurafilms for trusting us with it.

Better late than never. A while back, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Brazil for the Zayed Sustainability Prize. Being thrown into the middle of the Amazon was an experience I never imagined, especially since my only camping adventure was in my mom’s backyard as a kid! The trip began with a 14-hour flight from Dubai to São Paulo, followed by a 4-hour flight to Manaus, a 2-hour flight to São Gabriel, and a 6-hour boat ride up the Rio Negro to Içana. There, we met @edsbrasil_ EDS, an incredible organization providing free healthcare to isolated indigenous communities. We spent a week filming the amazing work being done and interviewing the inspiring Dr. Ricardo, the founder. It was a privilege to work alongside him, our cinematographer @jamie.kennerley Jamie, and our on-the-ground producer Tomas @fixerbrazil Despite the anxiety and braving rain and heat, the experience was fantastic. The return journey was just as adventurous, with a 6-hour boat ride and a 24-hour ferry back to Manaus. It was a journey I’ll never forget. Some behind the scenes photos from a project with @orcaaurafilms for ZSP in Guatemala. I traveled there to film Semila Nuvea, a company founded by Kurt Bowen that’s making a big impact by developing bio-fortified corn seeds with better nutrition and resilience against climate change. From the moment I arrived, it was non-stop. Right off the plane, we hit the road, navigating bumpy, winding paths up into the mountains to capture some beautiful cornfields. Despite the rough ride (I’m still feeling it!), the view was stunning. I had the chance to meet incredible people like Don Zacarias, a farmer who’s benefiting from these seeds, and we documented his story throughout the trip. One of the standout moments was visiting Don Zacarias’s home. His family welcomed us with such kindness and a homemade meal that really resonated with me. It was a reminder of how much happiness can be found in the simplest things, especially when surrounded by family. The trip wasn’t without its challenges—storms, blocked roads, and some long detours—but every part of it was meaningful, from the landscapes to the people we met.
