I've been feeling anxious about making a chair for over a decade. I've spent countless hours studying, imagining, and sketching them, but never tried to make one. It took an intensive 1-month residency at a woodworking studio near Mt. Fuji, Japan to finally commit to build one properly using hand tools and joinery (no hardware). I'm pretty pleased with the result so just maybe there will be more chairs to come in the future

Testing out a revised dowelling jig and a new corner brace bracket 👨🔬
I replaced the jig's brass bushings with stainless steel for durability + added slots to prevent dust from collecting inside. The new brackets should provide more support & will help secure a tabletop
