Spent some time over the past year talking with @jscrutchmer for @rollingstone about the new record, writing the latest single, and getting back in the studio with @texasgentlemen

My seventh studio album ‘They Call Us The Lucky Ones’ is out now.
Getting in the room with @texasgentlemen to make this record felt like a throwback to the early days. I’ve always loved records that feel loose, live, and gritty, with a bit of soul, where the imperfections from the moment are left in. With this group, we really got to lean into that….tracking it live in Fort Worth, keeping the overdubs minimal, and letting the feel of the moment lead.
Excited to finally share this one with y’all.

Ryan Bingham joins Collider On the Record and shares how he met Taylor Sheridan and began to work on Yellowstone 🌵🤠🎵

Ryan Bingham hadn’t necessarily planned on collaborating with the Texas Gentlemen beyond a one-off set at Billy Bob’s in 2021, but he knew not to let the kind of musical chemistry that he felt that night slip through his fingers. He ended up inviting the band to join him for one-off concerts around the country in 2022. Every few weeks, Bingham would get together with the band whenever he was back in North Texas, and they’d meet up at a Fort Worth studio. “We didn’t go in there with much of a plan,” Bingham said of the 2024 sessions that became “They Call Us the Lucky Ones.” Before long, they were having too much fun–and sounding too good–to not record. “Before we knew it,” said Bingham, “we had an album.”
“They Call Us the Lucky Ones” is Bingham’s first studio album in seven years and the first of his post-’Yellowstone’ era. It’s also his first record since his 2023 marriage to @hassieharrison , whom he credits with inspiring a lighter tone in his songwriting. “You got a lot of sad cowboy songs,” she told him one night. “You need some glad cowboy songs.” Read more about the album at the link in our bio.

When we made this record, we knew vinyl was part of the story and the world of this album. So we pressed a limited run of color variants for our collector fans out there.
Only a handful left of each, so if one catches your eye, make sure to grab at link in bio… because once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Another preview from the new record out Friday.
The kind of story that’s made for vinyl with a little crackle comin’ through the speakers.
When I first started playing music over twenty years ago…I never knew where this road was gonna lead.
Sometimes the miles give you exactly what you’re lookin’ for. Sometimes they leave a mark. Sometimes they take you somewhere you never expected. Either way, it’s the stories and people along the way that stay with you.
Recording this one with the @texasgentlemen took me back to the beginning and reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place.
My seventh studio album ‘They Call Us The Lucky Ones’ is out this Friday, May 15th.
