Me and Mat Day will be starting a monthly Jam at the Garibaldi called ‘SUNDAY SERVICE’ - the first taking place 25/01/26.
These will usually take place on the last Sunday of each month from 3pm- 6pm in place of a matinee.
To try to minimise dead spots, create structure and to insure that everyone plays what they want, with who they want, we have decided to make this an invite only Jam. We want to try to make it as organised as possible while still leaving the door open for spontaneity. The plan is for each musician that’s been invited to pick a couple of the tunes they would like to play or pick something from the Sunday service playlist curated by us.
Tunes should be decided on, with at least a week to spare so that the house band has a chance to learn your tunes!
We have a Google sheets file where you can sign up and request your songs, etc.
This means that jammers can also see what others plan to play so they can discuss hopping in on other people tunes over the course of the Jam.
Mat and I will be suggesting collabs and mixing up stage lineups anyways.

Listen to “Past Tense” by Harrison Hood, then listen to “Forbidden Road” by Robbie Williams.
They aren’t carbon copies, but the chorus melody, tempo, feel, and overall vibe are suspiciously similar. Someone has some explaining to do imo. But, happy to be proven wrong! 🤷♂️
Bear in mind, “Forbidden Road” was already excluded from Oscar contention due to being too similar to another song, “I Got a Name”, by Jim Croce. To my ears, it’s much farther removed compared to “Past Tense”. 🤔

I’ve seen so many incredible musicians play at the @thejazzcafe since I moved to England, but last night I actually got to play on that stage. I’m still buzzing after an incredible night. The crowd was ready to rage, and we definitely did just that.🤘
So much thanks goes to @instasqueeze for giving me the opportunity to open for them and reunite on stage after all these years.
