One year ago my Dad left this Earth, and tonight I’m sitting in my first home I purchased in large part due to the savings he put aside for me, often foregoing anything in his life, with this dream for me in mind. Grateful doesn’t begin to describe it.
They say grief isn’t linear and that really has been my experience. But even when you’re riding a high life moment, the sadness can lay over it like a blanket; sometimes weighted, heavy or even wet, other times light and sheer. But this whole year has felt like something sat on top of me and accompanying emotions.
My Dad made people laugh, he enjoyed being silly, cracking the same 10 jokes repeatedly, but quietly he did all that he could to take care of you the way he knew best. He fixed my bike, coached my sports teams, sat front row with a VHS camcorder to record my theater performances, brought me cereal in bed every morning before he went to work, and always always told me how proud he was of me.
I’m going to keep living my life to make you proud, Dad.

@jsudbey you are the one I can’t get enough of! 2 years married, 5 years a couple because let’s face it, we were a joined at the hip from day 1! Thank you for seeing through some of the roughest patches of my life, and showing me unconditional love while we are building our new family together.

Not many people chart a course, set their sights on a goal, and stay positively focused on a goal for 10 years, and see it through. This exceptional entertainer did that, and in the process reminded me personally about the power of perseverance. I want kids to see all the possibilities that exist when you believe in yourself and KEEP TRYING. Gravity may keep our feet on the ground, but @gingerminj is flying high to Broadway, and beyond! ✨👑 🧹✨ What an honor to be a part of the @pegmgmt and @peg_records team supporting the newest Queen of All Stars!
