We always have the best time at
@thenammshow ! Last week, MITC presented two panel sessions in collaboration with
@we_are_esta , focusing on mental health and psychological safety within touring environments.
Our first session, Mental Health in Groups: Supporting Each Other on Tour, explored how group dynamics can affect individuals on the road, and the vital role of peer-to-peer support in touring settings. MITC psychotherapists
@jodimilsteinlmft_lpcc ,
@whitneyomalleypsychotherapy , and
@ryan_michael_dusick shared practical, stigma-free strategies for recognising early warning signs, listening effectively, and guiding colleagues towards appropriate support, with the aim of safeguarding crew wellbeing before challenges escalate.
Our second panel addressed Psychological Safety on Tour, one of the most pressing topics facing the live industry today. We were delighted to be joined by tour manager
@tinafarristours , alongside MITC psychotherapists Whitney OâMalley,
@_intunewellness , and
@leily_labuda_therapy . The discussion focused on how touring teams can create psychologically safe and inclusive environments under intense pressure: spaces where people feel able to speak up, share knowledge, ask questions, and learn from mistakes without fear.
Also, Amanda Wheeler Flotlin represented MITC at the She Rocks Awards and had a terrific night meeting inspiring people with a commitment to improving mental health awareness in the industry.
Weâre deeply grateful to NAMM, ESTA and SheROCKS for creating space for these important conversations, and to our panellists for their insight, care, and leadership.
