First piece in a New body of photographic landscape paintings, "Home, Again/ Home, Another". Also, some moments and photos and drafts from my first few months in Korea. Using multiple exposures, infrared shooting, compositing, and painting onto one surface. We stopped by the grand canyon on our trip across the US before landing in Korea, one of many national park visits. I've never felt at home anywhere, but Arizona was my home just as much as anyone else's. This view is real and also fabricated. The world really is beautiful. I want to capture a small part of that, and inbue a photo and place with myself in some way. It's been a challenge to make any work these last few years, but life goes on.. I'm happy I'm alive. You can't stop me. Life is good. Art is hard. But I'm still here. Making what I can when I can. ------------- 사진 풍경 회화의 새로운 연작 **“Home, Again / Home, Another”**의 첫 번째 작업. 그리고 한국에 온 첫 몇 달 동안의 순간들, 사진들, 드래프트들. 다중 노출, 적외선 촬영, 합성, 그리고 하나의 표면 위에 페인팅하는 방식을 사용했다. 한국에 오기 전, 미국을 가로지르는 여행 중 그랜드 캐니언에 들렀다. 그 또한 여러 국립공원을 방문한 여정의 일부였다. 나는 어디에서도 완전히 ‘집’이라고 느낀 적은 없지만, 애리조나는 다른 누구에게나 그렇듯 나에게도 분명 집이었다. 이 풍경은 실제이면서도 동시에 만들어진 것이다. 세상은 정말 아름답다. 그중 아주 작은 일부라도 붙잡고 싶다. 그리고 어떤 방식으로든 사진과 장소 안에 나 자신을 스며들게 하고 싶다. 지난 몇 년간 작업을 이어가는 건 쉽지 않은 일이었다. 그래도 삶은 계속된다. 내가 살아 있다는 것이 기쁘다. 나를 막을 수는 없다. 삶은 좋다. 예술은 어렵다. 그래도 나는 여기에 있다. 할 수 있을 때, 할 수 있는 만큼 계속 만들어간다.

A new life can begin every morning. Grateful for the one I have, and the one I can dream of. Grateful to my wife. My friends and family; New, old and gone. I carry you with me, always, through every new iteration of this life. Thank you.
