The first thing people remark upon when they enter the restaurant is the beautiful woodwork that fills the space. I assure you friends, this wasn’t always the case. Tiella wouldn’t be the space it is without the outrageous, incredible work done by @herb_palmer_furniture and his team. Herb is a dear friend of Ry’s, and when we started dreaming up the interiors, we worked really closely to make sure the space would really feel like a trattoria. Most of our guests end up touching the wood panelling, in awe of its execution. It’s Herb’s birthday today so everyone say happy mf birthday!!!! You’re the best, we love you Herb!
Tiella was born in a pub, The @comptonarmsn1 to be exact. Our new home is an old Victorian pub formerly known as The Globe that dates back to 1860. It wouldn’t be right to not have Guinness and lager flowing, as well as a couple of extraordinary house wines on tap too.
You can always come and see us just for a drink. Half of the restaurant is a bar which you don’t have to book for, you can just walk in, order a £6.50 pint and have a snack or even a 4 course meal if you so wish.
Ry and Roma drove all the way to Wales to pick up this beer tap and we love it a lot. See you soon, cin cin xx

Tiella Trattoria & Bar will be officially open from Wednesday 21st January. Bookings are now live via Opentable (link in bio). As always, our bar will be available for walk ins, with a full food menu. This Friday 16th - Sunday 18th we will be running a limited soft launch. See you at the trattoria!
Long before Tiella, there was The Globe. It is said the building has existed since 1856. Reading through its records, it was mostly handed down from family to family. The How’s, the Crump’s, the Adlington’s. In 2002 the pub became The Stringray Globe Cafe, a family run pizzeria slash pub which ran for thirty years. Iva and Raytcho are now our landlords, and during construction they told us a few of the building’s secrets. We inherited some of their furniture too, the passing of time.
One thing’s for certain, there’s history in these walls. I feel it when the restaurant is empty of builders and I’m left standing in the dining room. Now, we’re the custodians of this incredible place. Just like how Tiella helped looked after the historic @comptonarmsn1 during our tenure, we’ll look after this old gal too. There’ll be pints pulled and you can prop up at the bar, just this time you can have a bowl of ragù. An incredible honour.
