Glad to be back holding a brush and pushing paint again, y'all! I've been working a lot lately and have missed the feels of buttery magical colors swimming on canvas.
My agency is having an art show and of course I missed last year's but also of course I'm not tryna miss this year. This piece will be my return to form!

Saturday Says: Go On An Artist Date!
There's often the many days, turning into weeks, where I don't feel like I've touched on the parts of my creative practice that are critical and revitalizing. Interrupting that necessary intervention for too long leaves me feeling flat and dull, and desperate, for absolution.
I seek it through so many things in the outer world and they never suffice nor provide lasting peaceful relief.
I've never been wholeheartedly faithful to any religion, but what I've tasted of the spiritual that links them all together is that the world outside, the world of material, holds not even a candle to what is to be experienced with the world inside, the world of the self.
Untold riches go buried in the rush of the material outside that the self inside will keep, and will suffer, if not told.
So here's a character I've been manifesting for some time now. She's a part of a grand story, an actress swirled into the world of a funny young magical boy. This reel is a showing of her evolution in my art.
I'm still working away at the story. I promise more than you, but myself, that I'll make it known to everyone.

2018 Sketch Bookie Lookie - Last Thursday Night Edition!
So late Throwback Thursday to when I usedta draw more maniacally while lamenting I didn't draw more maniacally than before when I usedta draw maniacally. I really meta-think things out, especially on these dark nights of the soul chill sessions.
Can you not sleep, too? I'm just so dang excited to be excited after punishing times just to make it through.
I got a lot of what I reached out to do in life. My adolescent self would have pushed harder against the machine of dropping out of life if they'd known their future is such a fantastic feeling extended.
It helps to be talented, charming and confident but not a douche about it, sure. But also it helps to have a cascade of support from people I know. And people I don't know yet.
I look forward to meeting all y'all inspiring lovers!
