1999 in Hannover geboren hat Anna schon immer eine Faszination damit gehabt deren eigenen Gefühle zu verstehen und diese anhand verschiedener künstlerischer Techniken nach außen zu bringen. hands clawing their way to the light. a representation of my wish to leave bad parts of myself behind and have a clearer mind. hoping to no longer be riddled with anxiety and depression.

euphoria (2025) / my bachelors thesis
an exploration of autistic female presenting peoples feelings and persceptions by and in society as well as the mental health field.
i asked the involved individuelles about their upbringing, their struggles and strengths, their interests and support systems. i chose creating talismans that represent us through embroidered portraits and things which we enjoy sensory wise.

materials and techniques: kumihimo and embroidery made from yarn, linen, wood, sand casted aluminium, clay glazed with iron oxide glaze

WiSe 23/24 - Personal project
Coming from japanese culture and having it‘s origins in zen buddhism the „Ensō“ is a symbol of enlightment. It has neither a beginning nor end and stands for strength and imperfection.
Engraved into the stable copper by hand and then blackened the depths immitate the swift appearance of a brush stroke without the paint actually being present.
Parts of it hold energy. Uncomfortable truths hidden deep within. Ever so slightly they made it‘s way to the surface to remind me that things are as they are. And to accept and trust myself.
It feels as though this object is taking all those negative feelings and safely locking them away from me. I look at it with familiarity, yet it feels like a stranger.
