Interest in the Mediterranean diet began in the 1960s. Since then studies found that it is associated with reduced risk factors for cardiovascular disease. ❤️ What is typical for Mediterranean diet? ▪️Daily intake of fruits, veggies, grains, nuts and seeds ▪️Consumption of fish and legumes multiple times a week ▪️Weekly consumption of eggs and poultry ▪️Limited intake of red meat and dairy products ▪️Variable intake of olive oil ▪️Cooking with spices and herbs While cooking, the Mediterranean diet works with whole-food, minimally processed ingredients. Most of the meals are built around plant-based meals rather than meat-based 🌱 Would you wanna try some Mediterranean meals but do not know how to prepare them? 🧐 Join the RxDiet community and try our mediterranean toast with legume spread, zucchini and tomatoes or mediterranean omelette with feta cheese and basil. And how about mediterranean bowl full of chickpeas, olives and quinoa? Taking care of your own health requires a great deal of discipline and motivation. We tried to identify the problems we all run into when we decide to eat healthy. 1) We need to educate ourselves - What does it mean to eat healthy? There is so much debate around healthy eating and the recommendations are often contradictory. We get lost in the amount of information and then often give up 😒 2) It takes us a lot of time - Once we know what we should eat, we have to plan our meals. Not everyone has the time plan and do grocery shopping every day. And frankly, if we want to eat healthy for the entire week, it is necessary to schedule meals in advance 📆 3) It's expensive and unsustainable – even if we have a well-designed meal plan (prepared from us or from an expert) we encounter a problem in a store. We realize that the groceries are too expensive, because the menu does not reflect the current prices in the store. Next, after we cook the meals we discover we are left with a lot of leftovers, which will eventually go bad and we have to throw them away. 🗑 4) Healthy food does not taste good - Many of us has tried healthy food and were not impressed. It is necessary to really choose meals that correspond with the individual taste preferences 😋 How and why was RxDiet created? 🧐 We brought together a team of people from various fields and decided to solve the problem. We realize that people will always lean towards the most convenient solution out there. So, our main goal was “Let’s make healthy eating the most convenient option there is” #nutrientapp #healthyeating #healthyfood #betterfood #betterme #healthylifestyle #foodasmedicine #convenient #smartapp #app #startupbusiness #loosingweight #weightloss #foodporn #foodstagram #personaltrainer

Cinnamon is a favorite spice around the whole world 🤩. Besides being a part of many traditional recipes, it also has positive health effects. Did you know that there are two types of cinnamon? Ceylon cinnamon is from Sri Lanka and Cassia from Barma 😊 5 reasons why to eat cinnamon: 😍 1) It acts as natural insect repellent. It's oils contain a compound which kills the mosquito eggs. When the mosquito smells cinnamon, it stays away from us. 2) Cinnamon has antimicrobial properties. It fights bacterial and fungal infections and is effective in treating Salmonella, Listeria or Candida. 3) It is a remedy for toothache and helps with oral infections 4) Regulates blood sugar, increases insulin sensitivity and helps in management of type 2 diabetes. Besides glycemia, it also decreases cholesterol levels. 5) Boosts the immune system, treats common cold and has anti-inflammatory effects 💪🏽 It is ideal in regeneration process, because it boosts the healing. It has also been used to help with flatulence, diarrhea or menstrual cramps🙋🏼‍♀️ Cinnamon is high in antioxidants and may be used as a natural conservant. It also contains calcium and vitamin K.👍 Ceylon or Cassia? 🧐Ceylon cinnamon is also called the true cinnamon. It it lighter, hard to find and more expensive. On the other hand, Cassia cinnamon is darker, harder, cheaper and can be found in most of the grocery stores. It has higher amount of compound called coumarin, which may accumulate in the body and impact the blood clothing and case a damage to our liver. Try to always use the true cinnamon.
