We're excited to share that after 30 years as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Artistic Director, André Lewis has been honoured with the title of Artistic Director Emeritus.
André's tenure with the RWB dates back to 1975, where he started as a dancer in the School's Professional Division. After joining the Company as a Corps de Ballet member and growing into a Soloist, he became the RWB's Artistic Director in 1996.
In 2025, he celebrated 50 years of service with the RWB, showing how incredibly deserved this recognition is. We want to congratulate André for this honour and thank him for being a driving force behind innovative works and classical recreations at the RWB.
