Today in Kigali, Hon. Minister @T_ndabamenye convened a high-level incubation meeting on the Rwanda Food Systems Innovation Ecosystem Strategy (2026â2035).
The meeting brought together senior stakeholders from government, private sector, research institutions, and development partners to refine and co-create a shared roadmap to position Rwanda as Africaâs leading hub for agri-food innovation by 2035.
Delivering his opening remarks, Hon. @T_ndabamenye emphasized that unlocking the full potential of Rwandaâs agri-food system requires a deliberate shift from fragmented interventions to a well-coordinated innovation ecosystem that effectively connects research, enterprise, and markets.
He further highlighted that innovation in food systems must increase productivity, create quality jobs, especially for youth and strengthen resilience to climate change to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth

Today at the Kigali Convention Centre, the 21st CAADP Partnership Platform and 16th Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS) event opens under the theme: âFrom Malabo to Kampala: Accelerating Just, Resilient Agrifood Systems Transformation for Nutrition and Sustainable Growth.â
During the high-level opening plenary, Hon. Minister of State Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye, emphasized that Africaâs future depends on turning commitments into coordinated action. He urged leaders to sustain the Malabo momentum through the CAADP Kampala Strategy for resilient agrifood systems. He also noted that as we commemorate the 16th Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS), food security is about producing better, ensuring all Africans, especially children and vulnerable groups, have access to safe, nutritious, and affordable food.
