Rust Magic Agency (formerly Rust Magic International Street Mural Festival) is looking for exterior or interior walls for the 2026 season.
We are not accepting artist applications at this time. This call is for property owners only.
We need:
· Large, blank, legal exterior or interior walls
· High-visibility locations
Season runs spring through fall 2026.

Dance of the Dragonfly

We recently finished our latest mural, "Dance of the Dragonfly," in Edmonton, Canada a collaboration project with Queen Mary Park Community League, Westmount Community League, and Sinclair Supply.
.
This 143 ft x 30 ft corrugated metal wall presented its fair share of challenges, but we overcame all obstacles under the hot autumn sun. The design features long pinstripe lines that anchor the contemporary composition, offering a futuristic take on a traditional landscape painting while encompassing elements of the Canadian wilderness. Although the lines are minimal in design, the length of the wall made the taping the true artistry in executing the mural.

The concept of migrating dragonflies emerged as both a literal and metaphorical reflection of our experiences as Canadians. We found it fascinating that dragonflies migrate south to warm climates in America and Mexico during winter, spawning offspring that return to Canada the following summer. Much like us, who chase warmer climates to continue painting, these beautiful creatures seek refuge under the sun in faraway places.

Day by day, the community beamed with excitement as we painted adjacent the dog park. We were moved by the enthusiasm and support from all the people (and dogs) who passed by. It’s projects like these that remind us our efforts don’t go unnoticed, and we truly felt a strong sense of community pride as we worked to finish the wall supported by an outstanding amount of encouragement.

Looking back 👀 We were invited to paint a mural inside the flagship store in Edmonton. Aesthetically the space aims to merge the elements of the natural and tech worlds.
The vision for this mural was to create something bold and eye catching that carried a positive message. After deciding the mural would be word based, we thought our own typographic font called ‘Layered Cake’ would be a perfect fit for the project.
‘Layered Cake’ uses a combination of primary and fluorescent colours, overlapping and creating a transparent section of new colour.
Using the words ‘HOME GROWN’ , Aurora was able to effectively communicate it’s priority in sourcing local artisans and product.
