April showers brings May… anglers? As the ice begins to recede, we're dreaming of long days spent in the boat, shore lunches and the perfect cast into the water 🎣 Rushing River offers the perfect gateway into Dogtooth Lake, known for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Lake Trout. We also have two boat launches from either side of the park, allowing you to easily access the lake or to enjoy the sunset from the docks 🛶 Not interested in fishing? The Park also offers rental kayaks and paddleboards, as well as PFDs, available on a first come first served basis. Let us know how you look forward to experiencing Dogtooth Lake or your favourite fishing memory below!

We're not the only ones waking up from a long winter! Black Bears live across Ontario in forested areas where they can find enough food, shelter, and denning sites. This includes areas in and around the Park. To be bear-wise during your visit… When hiking: 🐻 Travel in groups of two or more people, and watch for signs of bears. 🐻 Always make noise. It’s a good idea to bring a whistle to help scare bears away. 🐻 Keep dogs on leashes at all times. An unleashed dog running ahead on the trail might provoke a bear and lead it back to you. At the campsite bears will be attracted by: 🐻 Strong food aromas 🐻 The scent of garbage 🐻 Ripe fruits and pet food left outside All wildlife attractants are best stored in the trunk of your vehicle with its windows closed, where they can't be seen or smelled. We want to share space with bears, keeping our human visitors and all our wildlife residents safe!
