We return to @thevicandassembly AKA the Art School for a bank holiday blockbuster this Good Friday, April 3rd, with @bash.man___ & Mi$$ Co$mix on the decks hitting out with freaky techno, acid and breaks before handing over to Scottish techno stalwart @stephenbrownofficial for his RUSH debut ✊ A long standing figure in the UK underground, the Edinburgh producer has been shaping Detroit-influenced machine techno since the early 90s, with a string of amazing releases on legendary labels including Transmat, Djax-Up-Beats and Subject Detroit! Still ever present on the Scottish scene Stephen Brown continues to deliver lush and driven techno both in the studio and live. After a wee winter break we’re back on Friday the 9th of january all guns blazing with one of the best around from Glasgow to help us kick off the new year in @thevicandassembly - @wheelman_gla Wheelman has been a revered character in the cities electronic circles for good reason with more than a decade of running events and even longer as a producer and DJ under his belt. His Stereotone parties began in 2015 with incredible guests including Shanti Celeste, Luca Lozano, Ben UFO, S.O.N.S and semtek as well as hosting a who’s who of locals inbetween. Wheelman then launched Stereotone as a label in 2016 with a cracking V/A featuring Bleaker, @big__miz , previous guest @theburrellconnection and Wheelman himself which we really recommend checking out. He has musical support from Ben UFO, Facta, Move D, Peach and Moxie as well as notable mixes for Hessle Audio, Studio Barnhus & Don’t Be Afraid. Beyond the city he’s played gigs around the UK and Europe, released music for labels like Don’t Be Afraid and Studio Barnhus and worked as a mixing and mastering engineer for other labels and artists making him him all round one of the most experienced players in the city As a DJ Wheelman can play across the board but often in the club fires out chunky house, techno and bass heavy breaks. We’re really excited to hear what he’s got in store for his return to the vic bar as he takes us to a world beyond 🪐 Opening up as always are our residents @bash.man___ & Mi$$ Co$mix with their usual combo of freaky techno, acid and breaks to get the placed heated up 🔥 We’ve got a whack of free before midnight tickets on RA with the rest at a fiver to keep it cheap n cheerful for those fighting off the January blues so grab em quick before you miss out!
